It is hard to review Galleon Beach as the cottages are in such dire need of upgrading. However, that said, they are functional and clean and have the basics of what you need for self catering. The location is wonderful, right on the beach and just a short boat ride (free during the day) to English Harbour. You can walk... More

We had a good stay at galleon beach, just front of the beach. The bungalow was nice but old and the terrace is not well maintained. The beach is rocky and as we swim along the beach, we saw a long chair at the bottom of the sea. The price is too high for the confort. On sunday, I beach... More

When we visited Antigua (Aug 3 - 12, 2007), Galleon Beach Hotel was shut down, and we were told, possibly for good. The restaurant, Calabash, was working to open by Aug 14. The hotel manages several of the villas on the hillside behind the hotel. We stayed at Lime Hill Villa. I cannot say enough good things about this experience.... More

Well painted, clean, large and airy. The cottages have basic furniture but comfortable. They also have a full kitchen. Prior to arriving, you can ask the hotel to go grocery shopping, which we did. This made it very convenient to have our breakfast in our cottage every morning. For dinner we went to the connected Calabash restaurant, which was very... More

My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Antigua. We stayed for four nights in a two bedroom garden cottage (Mayflower) with my parents. The hotel accommodations were nice. The cottage was clean and bug free. It was nice to have our own kitchenette so that we could enjoy breakfast on our patio overlooking the bay. Our... More

What a fabulous cottage, right on the beach, with the trade wind blowing through from front to back to keep us cool in the night. The cottage was old but comfortable and homely, with nice touches like fresh flowers from the maids. All the staff were friendly and helpful, we can see why people come back here year after year,... Difficult to give this one a rating. Sub-standard accommodation in a lovely setting. The beachfront duplex was tired, to say the least. It was roomy - large living room/kitchen and reasonably spacious patio. But the whole thing needed renovation and probably new beds to boot. Having said this, the location is brilliant and the grounds are lovely. And, from what... More

3/15/04 We've just returned from our second stay at Galleon Beach Club, two years in a row. The setting is beautiful. Keep in mind that the villas do not have television, air condtioning nor phones and remember that you are on an island vacation so who needs those? Previously we have stayed at the St.James Club and Blue Waters. Galleon... More
