This is a lovely hotel that is beautiful, historic, clean with friendly and caring staff. The breakfast is okay but it's Cuba folks. I ate in the dining room one night and although the waiters were excellent, the food was not good. There are many wonderful restaurants close by that have cheaper and fresher food. The pool is lovely but... More

The hotel is close to the beach. The pool is very galaxies. It is good for a group of small friends. I had a comfortable stay in Feb 2013. The rooms were clean and well kept as compared to other hotels that I had gone to. I was happy staying here. The staff is very hospitable and friendly. They are... More

We spent seven days at Hotel Presidente and if you do your research you'll realize that it isn't really that out of the way as some have indicated. Hotel Presidente is in the neighborhood of Vedada, closest to Centro Havana (5 minutes by cab), followed by the neighborhood of Old Havana (8 minutes by cab). These three neighborhoods all line... I should have looked more closely at the bad reviews-you would be better off, for a sense of history of staying at hotel national or in Havana Vieja area where there are numerous hotels/ hostals/ casas-the front desk service was woeful and the women quite rude. The breakfast was OK. They seem to cater for tour groups here. The hop... More

This hotel would be considered very average in most cases. However, as for Cuba this hotel is excellent. The staff is very professional and attentive. The breakfast buffet is quality and the pool bar food is actually very good. The amenities are in a dilapidated state and many things need repair. My shower pressure was extremely low but I knew other... More

I spent 10 days at the "Presidente", starting on Feb 20. I have stayed there before, and have always been impressed by the quality of the people who work there. From the terrific front-desk staff to the maids, they all work hard and are exceptionally friendly. The buffet breakfasts are good, as are the meals served at the poolside snackbar.... More

I highly recommend this hotel. The service staff is so nice and the hotel itself is clean and comfortable. With beautiful views of the Malecon on one side of the building or parts of Havana on the other you can't go wrong. The food is good and the breakfast buffet gives you many options. It is situated nicely in Havana... More

After reading other reviews herein, all we can say is: It's true that: 1) There are 2 elevators, one or both of which may be working on a particular day; 2) When the hotel is fully booked, the hot water may be sporadic on a particular day; 3) The cold water may be running out of the sink faucet or... This hotel is a piece of history. Al Capone and Che Guevara stayed here (the latter without paying). But the paint is peeling, various things don't work, and the hot water is very unreliable. Food is copious, but canteen quality. It's far from the historic old Havana (you need a taxi to get there). But rooms are big, views are... More

I had read some scary reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor but ended up loving the place. Yes, one of the two elevators didn't work but it was no big deal. One's expectations have to be placed within the context of Cuban realities. The size of the hotel is perfect; it would be called a boutique hotel in the US.... More
