Very nice experience. Friendly people. It helps tremendously if you speak some basic Spanish. From what we gather there were 4 or 5 rooms, each opening on to a small outdoor hallway on the second floor. At the end of the hallway is in the front a communal area (not used much) and at the other end is a dining... More

Nice casa, has a manned door so feels very safe only 4 blocks to the very centre of town. The old lady was very friendly and made us delicious breakfasts every morning. If you want to stay close to centro havana but be around a less touristy area this is the place to be. Clean and room turned over everyday.... More

This was our first stop on our travels in Cuba. Everyone in the casa proved to be very helpful and friendly. The old lady who cooks the food is very sweet and always cooks up a delicious breakfast and equally good dinner if requested. The rooms and place in general has lots of character with high ceilings and a nice... More

First time we used accomodation like this. It was like a little cozy hotel and there were beautiful old furnitures. We spent 4 nights in Casa Amada and we felt this place safe. Our room and all generally areas were clean. Towels were changed every day. Shower is good and there was enough hot water. Very good breakfasts was served... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Amada. We stayed for 5 nights in late December before heading to Cienfuegos. The casa is in a great location in Centro Habana. Just off Neptuno and a few blocks from the Malecon. There are several small stores with in a few blocks (on Neptuno) where you can buy water, beer, rum and... More

We arrived at Casa Amada at 2.00 in the morning after luggage problems at the airport. The outside was uninspiring, and there were no less than 3 iron to ceiling metal gates to get through before reaching the first floor. An elderly lady waited for us at the top gate and let us in wordlessly. She showed us to our... More

Older house, early 20th century? Thick walls, high ceilings (18 feet?), once had windows opening between rooms laid out in a row, and onto patio corridor. Now closed off for privacy, bathrooms, air conditioning. Less airflow, but very acceptable; nice to imagine as it once was. Terrace overlooking the street, hear talk, drumbeat, salsa music, vehicle horns from many sources.... More

We stayed at this house for three nights even though we were a bit apprehensive about staying at a Casa particular. I'm glad we did. The room had a.c. a fan and hot water. The place is quiet and you can hide out without being bothered or interact with the owner and staff. The breakfast was good, it included lots... More

Nice clean casa with big spacious rooms and really comfy bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and tried hard even though we couldn't always communicate! The breakfast was really good - eggs, coffee, bread and loads of fresh fruit! The sitting area and internal balcony made it feel spacious and airy. The only downside is it is about a... More
