If you want to experience a truly traditional old Welsh Inn, try the Talbot, in the square Tregaron. Food in the bar is a friendly affair where you will taste local meats and ingredients, prepared properly and full of flavour. You will not leave hungry...guaranteed. We are pretty local, and it's always interesting to eat at the Talbot because it... More

We booked here for a meal during a long weekend break. All of our meals were unbelievable. Great cooking with the best quality ingredients. The owners were friendly and extremely helpful. The ales were also carefully chosen and a lovely addition to our meal. We will without doubt be visiting again this time hopefully to stay. Thank you again

For a very reasonable price you can stay at Y Talbot, you can eat very well, you can drink excellent beer and wine and have a very comfortable bed with a superb ensuite shower. A group of six of us (motorcyclists) stayed over the May Day weekend and the staff made us feel very welcome, were genuinely interested in what... More

Had a very enjoyable meal in this lovely old hotel really nice choices on the menu, good food and traditional surroundings, a good choice of wine and real ales, would definitely return again. Spent a wonderful night at the newly refurbished Y Talbot. Having enjoyed the wonderful countryside around Tregaron, received a great welcome on arrival, the staff were excellent. The rooms are first class with new fixtures and fittings to a very high standard. The food was absolutely delicious and for a "pub" well presented and well priced. A really terrific overnight... My family (all adults) stayed here for a weekend and found the rooms which have recently been decorated to a very high standard. Our rooms looked over the main square and were large, clean and very modern. The bathrooms were amazing and the showers brilliant. There is a lot of work going on in the hotel but this did not... My wife and I first called in here after a winter's walk around Cors Caron. We were hoping for some warmth, a halfway decent pint and an acceptable sandwich. What we got was so much more; a welcoming fire, friendly staff, a choice of real ales, good wine and surprisingly good food. The menu is a mix of "gastro pub"... More

We stayed for 3 nights with our cocker spaniel. We were all made very welcome. We ate in on all three nights. The food was excellent. The hotel is beautifully located with access to the hills just behind the hotel.
