I really didn't like the place. A hard bed, tv, and a desk is all we got for 100usd per night. Checked out and stayed at sea garden. The bartender/ receptionist was awesome, gave great advice and service

On arrival discovered that the “village “ is made up of separate units and the “hotel” is actually called “the garden”. I’d like to meet whoever decided the ratings because the property is most definitely not a 3 star. It should be classed as having no rating instead of conning tourists into thinking that the place is something it isn’t. The owner(s) should be honest, drop their prices and re-classify the place as a hostel. None of the facilities the place advertised on the website was available: no restaurant or lounge or safe in rooms or tea/coffee facilities in rooms, etc. All they have is an expensive bar. A Beach, you can sit on for free, is a good 20 - 30 minutes walk away along a busy road with many many shops so be prepared to be stopped every few seconds and asked to buy. Rooms were dated which is forgivable but had serious issues such as broken electrical plug sockets and the fuse box was covered by just a picture. Major concern - No real security at the property which meant that anyone could walk in and get through to the bedrooms without being seen let alone challenged. A dangerous situation because there are no phones in the rooms, it’s a walk back to Reception if you need anything from them or housekeeping. Heavens only knows what would happen if you were in your bedroom and desperate for help.. Wouldn’t recommend it here if you have small children or seeking a quiet place as loud music is played at all hours with dodgy DJs and bad karaoke. Beyond me why it had to be so loud, the “events” space is no bigger than their average bedroom. Nor is the place suitable if you hate cigarette smoke as there are smoking areas right outside the bedrooms as guests are not supposed to smoke in the bedrooms. On the plus side, the majority of the staff were brilliant and very helpful. nothing was too much trouble.

everyone was so nice and friendly, just made the stay even better. The room was perfectly clean as well as the entire facility. Everything was in walking distance and free parking was a plus. Front desk Ann Marie was so informative and helpful. Debbie at the spa gave the best facial ever, really put in extra time and effort. Really appreciate how great they made my trip

Attention. Don’t stay at this place. Someone stole money from our room. They told us the key system isn’t working and they had to open the room every time when we wanted to enter. Anyone got access. We had 350 Euro in our belt bag and that was between our clothes deep in our backpack. Someone of the „hotel“ stole 100 Euro during we were out and wanted to hide it - wanted it not to be noticeable and left 250. We know it for sure because we didn’t touched the euros during our whole vacation. Moreover we had some US Dollars placed in a smaller bag closed to the bed. Even here that person was disgraceful and took 40 dollars out. Either one of the permanent changing receptionists, the housekeeper or someone else who got the key did this. It’s a shame for this beautiful country Jamaica. No safe like mentioned was available. Don’t stay here. Take care and safe travels.

My boyfriend called to make the booking since there wasn’t an option to book online. I arrived the next day and told the receptionist that I’m checking in and gave her my ID. Key word “checking in.” She checked the computer then gave me a price. I told her I’m checking in, not booking. Of course the booking was there but she wanted to charge me again. So she pulled it off by requesting info of the credit card. I told her to get the manager and within a few seconds, she “found it.” The room was neat and clean except the keycard failed to work several times. The following morning I woke up I went to reception to get the location of the restaurant since my boyfriend had chosen the option for breakfast. The receptionist told me she isn’t seeing where that was paid for. Can you believe I had to stand there over 30 mins for her to search the computer to confirm my payment? She began asking at what time I’ll be checking out in a manner which seems she wanted me to leave quickly. How preposterous! After that, she gave me a ticket to bring to the restaurant. Upon arrival, a waitress told me they’re out of food. Lol omg where does this even happen? So I had to walk back to the receptionist to let her know they’ve got a comedy show going on. I blatantly told her she needs to refund me. Seems to me she also wanted to scam the money for breakfast. A complete waste!!

I stayed at Donway in February of 2019 for a wedding. Overall I think this is a good location, for those who which to be close to the airport, not too busy, security on staff, close to the beach and quiet. Food and shopping available on grounds, great breakfast (Jamaican Style) just outside the front gate. I was only disappointed with the poor lighting in the room/bathroom, not able to apply make-up. I would recommend to couples or singles who are looking for a low key vacation.

If you are looking for a cheaper Jamaican vacation Donway is a place to stay. It is close to whatever you need and the staff is super friendly. The only problem we had was our room keys didn't work therefore the office had to keep letting us in our rooms. For one night to site see and rest before Sandals it's a gr ed at place to stay.

The name is really not correct....it is The Garden, a Boutique Hotel at Donway,a Jamaican Style Village. If is very close to the airport and Margaritaville. The room was very clean....one with a small microwave and a mini-refrig is called a suite. This is a very budget friendly hotel (not a resort) which has no frills or amenitites. If all you need is a bed and a shower, this is the place for you. And there is no phone in the room if you need to reach someone at the front desk. Staff very friendly....and don't forget to ask for the code for the free wifi.

This is a good place to stay if you're not picky and on a budget. Some of the other reviews are true, there is no fridge or any other basic amenities you'd usually expect. The room and bathroom were clean. (which is all I really care about) They have a restaurant on the grounds that was pretty good, but they didn't offer everything that was on the menu, which was annoying. The best part about this hotel for me was the location. I was able to easily walk to the beach / other restaurants and I was very close to the airport when it was time for me to leave.

We stayed at this hotel because one if my friends recommended us stay here. Once we checked in everything looked okay. We seen big rats running across the garden. We has to ask for wash towels. We stayed for one night and the following morning wanted to check out and leave a day earlier ! They refused us a refund! Save your Monday and save a vacation headache. Royal Decameron was were we are usually stay but they were sold out. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
