Our stay was very nice. It is a good value for the price. You can find cheaper places in the area or at least with breakfast included, but we really liked this place. Cleaning service every day, nice view, room was big enough and clean. The location was also good. Staff was nice. Maybe in the mronign a little slow... More

We wound up at Ivanhoe's Guest House after first trying out Hotel Timbamboo in Port Antonio. Both Ivanhoe's and Hotel Timbamboo are recommended in Lonely Planet, but the latter turned out not to be to our liking (too modern/no charm and terrible service with the complimentary breakfast). By contrast, Ivanhoe's Guest House had a lot more character and better views... More

Great value. Not expensive. Very clean. Nice rooms with nice view. Staff friendly. Peaceful place. Breakfast good (not included though). Not a fancy place but comfortable and great for being a guesthouse Worth a stay. Free wi fi.

I came here in January during low season when just about all the rooms were open. Yet we were given the worst room in the hotel, on the bottom level, below the staircase. The room was small and damp, smelled moldy, and the furniture was dusty and old. The mattress was thin and uneven, it was difficult to get good... More

We stayed here for 5 days and loved every minute of it. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is very quiet. We could walk every where from the guesthouse and it had a beautiful view. The staff at Ivanhoes was very nice. We were there for Christmas and they made us feel right at home. The... More

Stayed here two nights last week and Lorna Burke and her crew were very sweet. and the place was extremely clean. We had one of the top rooms with air conditioning and ceiling fans, twin beds, and a great view of the East Harbor. Easy walking distance to town center. Meals are separate and while they don't usually start before... More

Very friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is served there but not before 8:00 am. No other meals. The view from the upper level balcony (porch) is great. You can watch the Frigatebirds wheeling over the bay and the White-crowned Pigeons in the trees as you breakfast.

We spent 3 nights at Ivanhoes, in a VERY small room with 2 twin beds that gave us little room to move. Beds comfortable, pillows not so. Room was clean and no issues. We CBs (many of us :) often opt for small pensions and guesthouses and this delivered the exp. we were looking for. Met some fellow house guests... More

We stayed 3 nights here in mid-March, 2012. The owner, Lorna Burke, was friendly and helpful. We had the best room (22) on the top floor (2nd level). We had windows on two sides which gave us a nice breeze. There is a nice balcony (w/table and chairs) all around the second level with great views of the water Our... More

we stayed here two nights. Good location, comfortable, clean, carefully decorated rooms and friendly staff. Easy walk into town but quiet location. I was kept awake by nearby dogs barking one night but you can get that anywhere. The night watchman, Albert, took us out rafting and then to Scatter Falls. He was charming and knowledgeable and kind and we... More
