This is not your standard hotel or B&B. Don't expect soft, plush towels or matching sheets or indoor showers. What you SHOULD expect is an experience not to be missed. Things we did at La Finca: 1) Had a few incredible nights sleep with the sounds of nature replacing a white noise machine. 2) Borrowed a machete from the caretakers,... More

We stayed at La Finca Caribe (http://www.lafinca.com/). We rented the family cabana for $175/night. We flew into San Juan and took the ferry from Fajardo, Puerto Rico. LaFinca allowed us to have a true vacation away from every day life. So very relaxing. Grahm and Pam were so sweet and hospitable. Our house was comfortable and had everything that we... More

This was the best place we have ever stayed. Hands down. My husband and twin 11 year old boys agree. You are in a funky paradise of trees and flowers and little casitas with porches that wrap around, with a beautiful salt water pool and, best of all, the main house with its great common spaces. There is a great... More

Second stay at La Finca Caribe even better than the first! The deck of the main inn has been expanded, and with it the opportunity to stay up late in the cool evening and view the fine clear expanse of stars. There's a new larger self-contained casita to go with the others scattered around the property, so you have a... More

I stayed at la Finca for 9 days with my two boys. We had absolutely the best time. Partly because of the island, but also very much because of finca. The location was convenient to both cities but provided us with a definite sense of getting away from it all. The pool was perfect for extra water time, and the... More

We had a great time staying at La Finca Caribe! Our hosts, Corky and Bill were so gracious and helped us get set up with everything we needed: car rental, snorkeling and kayaking trips, restaurant recommendations and beaches. La Finca is a very welcoming and casual place to stay—it's funky and eclectic, but that is what makes it so special.... More

I strongly recommend La Finca - our family (two adults, 3 kids ranging in age from 1.5-13) had a wonderful time there. The kids enjoyed the pool, we loved the ability to cook for ourselves. The beds were comfortable, the people friendly and helpful, the living space simple and comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. I'd go again, with no hesitation!

La Finca is a special place, there is no doubt about that. I was looking for a place to get out of the city and relax on Vieques island, and I couldn't be happier I ended up here! I was traveling alone and wanted a good mix of meeting people, yet being able to completely unplug and relax. This was... More

Ahhhhhh thanks! You captured the place. And we could tell having you here, the place captured your heart...we love our guests, and love the way they get the Finca! And -- for those of you who want more privacy then the thin walls in the a main guest house, you can choose one of our two little cabins, or casitas... More

A pal and I just stayed at La Finca for five nights, lodged in the Family cabana. The stay was wonderful and really exceeded our expectations. The setting is beautiful. I loved reading while installed in one of the swinging benches on the porches...grilling dinner on our cabin's barbeque...eating on our terrace....listening to evening frogs or the patter of a... La Finca is the perfect place to stay in Vieques. It's simple and beautiful and very cozy. The rooms are rustic, very clean and breezy. The showers were our favourite part, they are communal, with curtains for privacy, and you can see the sky, stars and trees while you shower. So refreshing after a long day at the beach. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Vieques' most beautiful rustic getaway and original eco-tourism destination since 1995....a rare taste of the caribbean -- the way it used to be, quiet, natural & affordable. perfect for groups of two to thirty, workshops, family reunions, or romantic getaways for just the two of you ..anyone who likes off the beaten track and wants to experience the caribbean the way it was meant to be: quiet, natural and affordable. salt water pool, outdoor showers, hammocks, views and breezes.la finca is a cluster of handmade houses-- our large wooden main house, casa grande alone can sleep l8-22, but we also have two family size cabanas and two smaller casitas, all on 3 acres of fruit trees & palms, on the off-beat island of vieques, seven miles from puerto rico's eastern shore; a 25 minute flight and a world away from san juan....we're up in the hills, with beautiful views and tradewinds, three miles away from the bustle of town...talk about getting away!we're not a hotel, or a b&b ... the finca is our family's own private "finca" that we love to share with like-minded eco travelers -- folks who like things as natural and simple as possible. our towels dont match, our showers are outdoors (don't worry -- they're private), the skies are jet black and studded with stars, and the property is dotted in coco palms, mangoes, starfruit, bananas, and a dozen hammocks ... tropical summer camp, quiet and beautiful. Think Swiss Family Robinson... ... more   less
