We fully enjoyed our three-night break at Bryn Elltyd: a stunning location, a great green guesthouse and fantastic hosts. John and Ceilia welcomed us with tea and cake on arrival and the weather meant we could enjoy it in the guesthouse's fantastic garden, with views of the surrounding mountains and reservoir, as well as the Ffestiniog Steam Railway which passes... Have stayed here on a few different occasions now and each time I leave feeling valued and well looked after. John and Celia are always very helpful and welcoming and i think its fair to say they make the place what it is. The location is absolutely perfect, stunning mountain panoramas at the rear and scenic reservoir and woodland at... More

I stayed here with a group of friends to take part in a Navigational Skills day & to do the Croesor- Rhosydd Through Trip. Can't speak highly enough of the welcome that was extended to us all by John & Celia. Nothing was too much trouble for them & it's obvious that they take great pride in their ethical approach... I've stayed with John and Ceilia on a couple of occasions and it has been a pleasure. Set in a stunning location and run by the most friendly and accommodating people and it really does feel like a home from home. For a little extra on the bill Ceilia will cook you a homely evening meal and then you can... More

Travelling with a friend who has difficulty with stairs, a ground-floor twin en suite was a necessity. This guest house offers a CHOICE of such rooms, a rarity in this area of Wales. Our bathroom had a good-sized shower and a W.C. hand-rail - apparently the detached "garden" bedroom has a wet-room. The owners, whilst practicing a sustainable existence and... More

Last weekend my wife and I decided we would like to spend a couple of days in Snowdonia. We thought this was not going to happen because all that the most expensive accommodation appeared to be fully booked. However a call to the tourist office in Porthmadog resulted in us being told "we think that Bryn Elltyd might have one... More

Thank you John and Celia for your infectious enthusiasm for sharing your passion of living life using best practise "eco" equipment. The dis-belief of how little electricity, and fuel, you use. Your sharing of information reserched over years for free was special. Anybody thinking about new forms of energy into their homes that the government is pushing, stay here and... More

We'd had a booking with another guest house in the area who let us down at the last minute, I called the Bryn Elltyd Guest house who were brilliant, they were ready with tea and biscuits as soon as we arrived.
