We were very late arriving back in Canada with no where apparently open where we could get some food. Our motel host called over to the Auberge and they said they would wait for us for dinner. (Turned out they were still quite busy in any case - a popular venue with locals.) They were able to provide anything on the menu we wished. Had the Coquilles St. Jacques, which were wonderful. The server and I were able to joke over my butchered francais, but we had a good, welcoming time, despite it now being beyond her shift.

We stayed at Auberge au Soleil Levant for one night on our way to New Brunswick via Maine. Located almost at the USA border ( on the Quebec side) and having been reviewed by travelers so favorably, it was my first option. An incredible find !! a beautiful, quaint, clean inn featuring , to me, all and more than a large hotel can offer, at least in the realm of warm hospitality The room was charming , well but so well appointed ( even an ' artistic wall hanging' showing what offerings the inn would provide complimentary as well as a binder with a full history of the place ) , pine based shining and smelling of care and attention !! In addition , the self contained restaurant was super attractive, cozy , romantic with a menu that combined pub and fine dining. EXCELLENT . The owners are local , chef and front desk manager and their jubilant , hospitable, amicable , friendly attitude were a bona fide PLUS . Unfortunately the trip from our residence to l Auberge would be too long to be repeated on a short term holiday ...BUT returning for a longer stay is not beyond a prospective voyage in the future ...NO negatives to report in my mind

The food is terrible. They do not know how to cook ordinary foods. Dishes are poorly served. Service is mediocre. Waiters are pretentious. The view from terrace overlooking the lake is the only positive thing here.

Food is ordinary. Service was great but owners are not flexible nor customer service oriented. My child ordered lemonade and they refused to change it when she did not like it. The lemonade was a mix of orange and and pineapple juice nothing like a lemonade. I had to pay an additional drink of 7up. Not impressed. We were a table of 10 and spent $200 dollars.

We traveled from Pittsburg NH to Piopolis by snowmobile and found this delightful restaurant by accident. We had a delicious lunch, great menu with many dishes to choose from. Onion soup was awesome as was the lasagna! Our waitress was wonderful, friendly and informative. WiFi was available. We will definitely make this a day trip destination again soon. A quaint little community on the shores of Lake Magantic with a gas station just a few doors down for those that do travel by snowmobile. Looking forward to returning soon!

We went for a meal and it was delicious. Not the first time for us and we were again happy with the experience. The waitresses are smiling even if they are reallyyyyyyy busy which was very appreciated. Will go back !

This is not a fancy, formal restaurant. It is down to earth, simple dishes, well-prepared, well-served, in a cozy and quaint house/restaurant. We felt like we were invited to a traditional Quebec family meal, in their older well-kept home. This is an inviting place where the food is good and the price is right. Everything from a variety of Poutine dishes to great cuts of steak. The location is great, close to the lake, and not far from the US border at Coburn Gore. This is a great place to visit if you're vacationing in the Sugarloaf USA area, Eustis, ME, or even on your way to Quebec City or Montreal. Great local food and excellent service - many of the staff speak English - but, hey try to practice your French while here. Bon appetit and Joie de vivre!

This review is for the restaurant only. We were booked into a B&B in a neighboring town and stopped in at Auberge Au Soleil in Piopolis for a late lunch before checking in. What a pleasant surprise! The food was freshly prepared and delicious, especially the piping hot, fresh-from-the-oven, french onion soup...WOW! Crispy, thin crust pizza and yummy panini sandwiches. We were too early to order from the full menu (which is available at 5:00 p.m.), but the pub menu was more than adequate. Nice house Merlot, too. Quiet atmosphere on this weekday afternoon. Relaxed and friendly service. Great outside deck with a view of Lake Megantic in season. Highly recommended.

Stayed here because it was the best location for our one night stay. Room was sparkling clean. Beds were comfortable. We were a little concerned about the noise of the crowd at the bar & restaurant below us but it died down later in the night. The outdoor, fire-escape type stairs up to the rooms was slightly daunting but we made it alright. Charming little one-horse town.

we did not stay at this hotel- instead we camped at the lovely municipal camping area right on the lake. We did go to the restaurant at the Auberge Au Soleil Levant for dinner and had a wonderful meal. This little out of the way town is lovely, this restaurant is excellent (even though we are vegetarians and have limited ability in French!) - friendly staff and good service. Special request was handled well and the place was, deservedly, busy! We are heartbroken about the explosion in nearby Lac Megantic that happened a few days after our visit to this beautiful and area and towns. So we hope that the tourist trade will continue here in Piopolis and in Lac Megantic- we plan to visit again next summer regardless.
