I just spent 2 weeks at this hotel and have nothing negative or critical to say, other than the room could have used a small fridge. Other than that, an outstanding value. Close to everything, very reasonably priced and absolutely spotless room. Spic and span. My number one requirement is CLEAN. Pleasantly surprised, cleaner than some of the pricier hotels I've stayed in here. Great staff, great location.... did I mention clean? Wonderful. Highly recommended.

Pros: Its a short walk to the beach. In the 5 deciembre neighborhood. Very good eateries within a few blocks. Very close to bus lines that go to the airport (10 pesos). Very cheap laundry service around the corner. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean in the lobby and rooms. The rooms arent fancy but good. In good repair status and clean. Very hot water. Newer tv and neser LG A.c. unit. Tv has lots of channels including premium movie stations. A fruit breakfast with toast and coffee is included in the price. Cons: my room was very small but it was only me. Not sure of the other rooms. Not really a view at all. Only 1 window. Wifi works best in lobby not so good in room. Its free though. Overall this budget traveler satusfied for the price. Recommended if your budget conscience like me.

We we're here 4 nights, it was overall pretty good. I liked the secure parking, with video coverage seen from the front desk. I liked the quite a.c., I liked how clean it was, I liked my balcony for an extra charge of 100 pesos. I liked the hot hot water and terrific water pressure. I did not like the lack of elevator when on the 4th floor. I thought the breakfast was very basic, could dress it up even by serving different fruit from day to day rather than same every day, I'd like WiFi in rooms, I'd like milk at breakfast in my coffee rather than unhealthy coffee mate. But overall a good stay for 800 pesos online.

My room was very small, and being a single traveler, I could use the second bed to put my suitcase on, so I managed. My room had a window that opened to a service patio, so I could hear the staff talking. They shout at each other (even though they have walkie talkies) for linens and instructions until 5 pm when they go home. Forget about taking a nap... One night the watchman had an hour long phone conversation at 2:00 am right under my window. There are no amenities like chairs or bed lamps or even a plastic glass. Bathroom was small (have to squeeze around the toilet to get to the shower), tiny sink, no hand towels or face cloth. No fridge or coffee maker or anything of that sort. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, coffee and toast with butter and jam. That's it - full stop. No protein whatsoever. Wifi only at the lobby. Positive aspects - A/C, water pressure and temperature in shower, cleanliness, good mattresses. The front desk staff was helpful and polite. Location is good, safe and with easy access to the Malecon and the old downtown.

The room we were assigned was extremely small! To enter the shower it is necessary to step over the toilet! Sitting on the toilet, your knees touch the wall! Tiny sink. Hardly room at the foot of the bed to access the clothes closet. No chair or stand to open suitcases. No window to the outside. Very noisy with doors slamming, loud voices at late hours. Positive aspects - A/C, water pressure and temperature in shower, cleanliness, good mattresses. Several requests at the front desk for a larger room went un-heeded, and no attempt was made to accommodate our request. Staff were unable to communicate in English.

Good: Great location. Safe Mexican neighborhood. We could see the ocean from our balcony. Clean rooms and linens. Cold A/C! Not so good: Very few amenities. No fridge, cups, coffee maker, or iron. Small but functional CRT tv. Small rooms. Very little sound proofing. The staff speaks very little English. WiFi in lobby only. No elevator. Overall for the price, it was well worth it.

Four of us rented the penthouse. It consists of two large a/c bedrooms and one washroom. There is an outside (private) sitting area with a table and four chairs. There is actually a good ocean view. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very pleasant. The cost was approximately 200.00 can. total for the 2 nights .The location is great as it is close to the beach/restaurants and the malecon. The only downside is the penthouse is on the fourth floor and there is no elevator. The four of us are all over 70 and we managed.

Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the location. Checking in was fun as the clerk did not speak English, we sorted it out. Got a nice room, 2 double beds which was perfect. Beds were firm and very comfortable. Very clean as well. Reasonable bathroom. Breakfast was a hand made plate of fresh fruit, coffee, jam and bread and it was very good. We arrived a day early and couldn't get into our Timeshare so we stayed here and would not hesitate to do it again. Just to be clear, this is not the Hilton and if you want an affordable clean room with great staff, this should be your first choice.

We moved to the Mocali after a terrible experience at another budget hotel and what a difference. The basic rooms can be small but very clean. Bedding and towels are perfect. In this price range expect some compromises but just a few blocks to the beach and who needs a pool. Noise levels can be a problem at night so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Easy walk to Malecon and even walkable to romantic zone if not too hot. If you need the resort experience this is not for you, but for a safe and comfortable vacation in a great area with loads of things to see and do the Mocali is for you and we'll leave the lights on.
