The hotel is a little negleted; the best thing was the pool, but the family room we (3 adults, two kids) stayed needs some work (the shower leaks, the bathroom sink has mold. Also, there is a major contruction infront of the hotel, they are changing pipes, so there is mud and smells like drain water. I recommend this hotel for a night or two the most. The location is not bad, it has good restaurants near by and the beach is 10 mins away (walking).

No order at all. 25+ people in the pool screaming all night. Asking management to talk to them fell on empty ears. Accommodations bad. Housecleaning fine as usual in Mexico. I don’t see how several people gave them good marks. Overall, an awful experience.

We are Canadian who have been coming to Puerto Vallarta at least once every year for eleven years. We used to stay in large Puerto Vallarta Resorts. We prefer the Hacienda de Vallarta Los Glorias and have been staying here the last 4 years. Our most recent stay was 30 days and we are booked to return again for 30 days. We love it here. Francisco, Janet, Claudia and Daniella (as well as the numerous other employees) continue to make us feel welcome and special each year. Great location. An easy walk to town and just across the street from the beach. Many great places to eat within a block of the hotel as well as grocery stores and Caracol Shopping mall. The weekends can be busier (per one review and as one might expect of a hotel) but mostly a very quiet and relaxing place to stay.

We loved the all of the facilities, pool and the breakfast. We stayed in an upstairs updated room. Francisco helped us by weighing our pre-flight checked luggage with a kitchen scale. We suggested the hotel get a bathroom scale for the purpose in the future.

Cleanliness, service, and value, all good here. The only quirk about this place that mightn't fit your style is that the place is teeming with children who shriek and scream in and around the pool for up to 16 hours every day. Our room was on the upper level where it was apt to be quieter, but that didn't stop exuberant families from shouting outside our door at 10pm when we wanted to sleep. Finally, I must say that the aircon in our room was excellent. The WIFI, however, if really iffy and you must get outside of your room if you expect better.

Cheap budget hotel but as vacationers we come to relax and like to lay by the pool and enjoy the sun. Unfortunately, this hotel does not put any money into the pool area. The pool is not heated and is frigid. The table and chairs are permanently dirty no matter how hard you scrub them to try and clean them. There are two mesh loungers by the pool that are both broken and ripped. The other lounge chairs are a hard pvc that you cannot adjust that no one wants to lay on for any length of time. The hotel next door, Vallarta Sol, although it has a lot to be desired from the outside has a heated pool and many beautiful loungers and zero gravity chairs. I've looked at that hotel in past years and talked to people that have stayed there year after year and it is evident that they are putting money into that hotel to attract tourists which this hotel is not.

This review is written day by day and after leaving Mexico so please excuse time references and tense anomalies. We three middle aged British guys had been to Mexico every year over six years and found PV very agreeable, especially as we book last minute cheaper seats only with Tui. Once again we booked the flights five days before leaving and booked the accommodation the day before from London at the same hotel we had been in in December 2015. The hotel was Hacienda de Vallarta Centro in the old town which we liked last time as we were on the top floor with great views albeit a busy noisy street below. After the early morning eleven hour flight we landed at 13:45 on Friday 16th March, left the airport quickly with our 5kg mini rucksacks, grabbed some cash from the row of ATMs (Santander the cheapest at 31pesos commission) and headed for the bus stop round the corner in the blazing heat (snow in London). After a long, slow but cheap (8 pesos each) local blue bus via 'tunel' we arrived at HVdC 'Home' at 15:28. The friendly female receptionist then informed us that the hotel was fully booked and we would be sent to their sister hotel HdV del Gloria for the same £36 price. I thought it was still in the old town by the river so accepted. She then said a taxi would take us (at their expense) so I used their wifi (same password saved from 2015!) to find it was actually 3.6km north in the newer resort. In fact we had noticed its bright blue facade whilst waiting in the traffic queue on the bus! Oops we were not happy! Before we knew it the taxi arrived, 25pesos handed over by the receptionist and we were in a proper new taxi with seat belts on our way back the reverse direction via the tunnel with queues but A/C and comfort this time! We arrived at 16:00 to be greeted by the same English speaking receptionist as in 2015, obviously a family affair. He remembered us three which was nice and sorted out a room (43) for us. Up the stairs and along the open corridor we found it overlooking the pool with a family having a good splash about in the sun. The hotel seemed to b a bigger version of the Centro branch but I'm not sure which was built first. On entering the room there was a smell of mild bleach, so they are responding to previous reviews. There was a bin by door (and a big black bin at the top of the stairs by reception for emptying bulky rubbish in so was usually full every morning with brought in beer cans and pop bottles. There is a canned beer dispenser in the reception at Mex$20 each. The room contained three beds, two at 54inch wide and one at 38in wide (side onto the wall) all 78 inches long, on solid concrete built in bases so no fluff under them, although some was around the room on arrival. All the sheets were clean with large three towels distributed on them. An LED TV was on the wall (deposit for remote was at reception but not needed as all Mexican channels unless extra cable access was purchased). The A/C unit was new and proved efficient with the remote supplied (for free, no deposit). A clothes rack bar was in the corner alcove with only three hangers unfortunately. There was no surface for things except the windowsill and a small table between the two bigger beds, this proved insufficient as our things had to be left on the floor. There was a central lamp with wall lights were over each big bed, all controlled from the bed thankfully. No lamp by or over the small bed, only the LED TV looming over it! There was only one socket on the wall by the small bed so bring multiadapters for all your devices!! An empty jug and two glasses (need three really) were on the side table with no electric sockets in sight. The kids by pool were obviously noisy whilst the cleaners were busy all morning clearing rooms and preparing. Every morning a swimming pool cleaner diligently cleared the pool and a sweeper patiently swept around the pool area as the trees dropped flowers and seeds around. The shower room had a sticky door (being damper at the base had swollen it no doubt) so was noisy when opening; it needs a shave as the door needs to be closed to keep any mozzies out and the bang on opening when making night visits to the loo disturbs others inside and below no doubt. There was a dim light in the ceiling above the sink with the usual dodgy electrics by the sink with a big mirror. The usual distressed paint job adorned the walls and the cold tap was seized in the shower. The sink taps were not tightly fitted so wobbled unfortunately. The large mirror was fine for shaving at and the water pressure was good enough to jet out the razor. There was a frosted slatted glass window with a slat missing so the daytime road noise and a yappy dog was quite evident. We were a little worried about mosquitoes flying through after dark although none appeared during our stay. Two other frosted solid windows kept the shower room bright in the day. The walls by the toilet could have done with a deep clean. There was a bin by the toilet. The main corridor lightweight windows had internal catches but felt a bit insecure although the whole place felt safe and secure anyway. Getting to know the staff and cleaners would help with security. Wifi from both transmitters was not reliable overall so we had to sit in the noisy reception to get a decent signal to sync devices, look up restaurants and our next stop hotels. This was the same as we found in the Centro hotel in 2015 unfortunately and quite a pain. As we had no overnight sleep in London and little on the plane on our first night we were able to hit the sack at 21:40 and sleep through the noisy poolside and terrace neighbours although ear plugs helped me. We had had two small beers each in Bill's Bar and Grill earlier after a local backstreet cafe taqueria which helped the slumber but that sticky door made loo visits noisy! In the morning the thick curtains kept the brilliant sun out of the east facing room. There was a musty smell in the morning that is what other reviews referred to so the door was opened to air the room with a draught to the shower room open window. Breakfast was busy below (not impressed included or ordered by us) in the large dining courtyard with mostly Mexicans (this is quite upmarket for most middle class Mexicans I think). At 08:30 I popped down to reception for the free coffee but the pot was inside the kitchen. The waitress had to pour me a big polystyrene cup full. No milk offered but I had my own from the plane (as seasoned travellers I get my sachets where I can!). On our second morning the dispenser was available. We had not realised it but a Mexican friend told me that it was a bank holiday weekend (Benito Jaures' birthday!) so all accommodations were booked out or way above our budget! After our good night's early sleep we approached the English speaking receptionist at 08:45 to ask if there was any room available there that evening. A group party was busy checking out so she asked to sort it in fifteen minutes as they were full. We took the opportunity to catch up on the more reliable wifi in the reception. After the group left she studied her screens, beckoned us over and let us know thankfully that we were able to stay in the same room for Mex$ 920, a good price again (£35). Relax!! Tomorrow we shall have to do the same for Sunday night to clear the bank holiday weekend. (Written after the second night) We arrived at 00:15 last (Saturday) night after hitting the Zona Romantica/Old Town to find our beds made up and a chair between the double beds and the table moved to the head of the single bed by the wall. We did not expect that, so thanks. Our charging devices were neatly rearranged. New towels too! This is luxury for us and if I had known they were to do this I would have asked them not to as we are happy with a towel each for two days (ecologically more sensible). One can obviously trust the cleaners too! The second night was a good eight hour sleep too with ear plugs in. No cacophony heard outside, just muffled general chat by the poolside group into the night. No bedbugs were sensed or discovered (according to some previous TA reviews) as far as we could tell! Three big Mexican motorbikes were in the foyer when we arrived and still there at 09:30 as I am typing this there (for the reliable wifi). Whilst away in the evening we booked tonight/Sunday night online as we could not guarantee staying here a third night. We three also booked our last night (before flying back from PV) at Hostel Vallarta on 29/3 as it was Easter weekend and everywhere else was full or very expensive. I just confirmed with the friendly English speaking receptionist that tonight (Sunday) is completely full so just as well we found somewhere else. We three had our last swim on the pleasant pool before noon checking out. Unfortunately the management had decided to put a large speaker blaring out repetitive techno into the pool area! This was despite a brand new sign being erected with a rule saying 'no loud music by the pool'! A bit odd that the management broke its own rules!! My friend commented that if he had played Shostakovich very loud at the pool he would have probably been told off! He also said the management had put on its own style of music according to the individual staff member's preferences. It was certainly not in keeping with the ambiance and sinking to the lowest common denominator as usual. Overall the hotel is very friendly, with hard working cleaners, probably overworked to keep prices keen and better off Mexican families happy. I would suggest a regular deep clean and repair of one room at a time to see to those walls and missing slats. Also making sure each person/bed has a raised surface to put things on and an extra bedside lamp for the smaller bed would be helpful too. I actually bought a nifty double adapter (with light socket at £1) and a fluorescent bulb (£2) from a hardware shop nearer the old town. This proved useful charging more devices from the single socket by the third bed and having an intense light for reading at or sorting stuff at night. I'd love to give it 5/5 for the overwhelming friendliness but can only give 4/5 for technical reasons. It is a luxury for Mexican families here and budget for us Westerners so you get what you pay for but with very friendly hosts.

We have been to many places. This has been the worst hotel of all of them. Our first night, one kid, around 9 - 10, was screaming so loudly it hurt our ears. If he was one octave higher he would have broken the glass windows. Then, with the prodding of his older sisters, started barking like a dog and making other weird noises. I understand kids will be kids but this was beyond normal. Other adults asked him to be quiet but they all ignored them. When we went to the front desk to ask them to speak to him, "Francisco" the man on duty, said the boy was also on vacation and has every right to make noise. After waking up at 5am the next morning to his yelling again, we put in earplugs and tried to go back to sleep. We noticed they were gone when we woke up again. We found out later, we not the only room that complained that night either. Many other rooms did as well and many threatened to check out if nothing was done. The walls and doors are so thin, you can hear the room next door talking. The door itself was so worn out you could see through it. This is the first hotel where I have see a bug walking across the table. Not a little one either, a big beetle looking thing. Some windows has screens while others did not. The bathrooms on the main floor had three holes to the outside for ventilation. The road was well travelled so you heard traffic and voices all night long. Most hotels we have stayed at offer at least a bottle of water, but this hotel did not. The did have a water dispenser to refill bottles, but the spigot was filthy. The beds were hard, but that seems to be the norm for Mexico. There is a ramp for your suitcases going in, but it is only on one side. A large square block covers the entire front entrance so it is not wheelchair accessible. They do serve breakfast but we did not eat there. The display of food looked interesting and I only saw one person eating there.
