This is not a chain hotel. This is a funky, clean, b. and b. - ish establishment where you see all the guests in the morning for breakfast around big long tables where you are served Mexican hot chocolate and can order chilaquiles for breakfast. Many of the rooms do not have TV, which I think is a plus. If... More

Casa Gonzalez is our home away from home whenever we are in Mexico City. It is located in Zona Rosa only a few blocks off one of the main streets, Reforma. It is only about 8 blocks from the Metro & it is in the area of several embassies & a huge police station. We always feel very safe in... More

I have stayed here twice and was in two different rooms. The pluses: Great Location (5-10 minute walk to Zona Rosa), quaint courtyard, nice breakfast, charming staff, 3 computers for internet use in public area, reasonable price, English spoken by many staff members. The minuses: Old small rooms, disorganized staff, lack of safes in many of the rooms (my room... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comment. Casa Gonzalez is unique, every room is different and as you remark some are smaller than others. In the last house we adapted to make Casa Gonzalez we emphasized in having larger rooms with better water pressure and hot water. We are working towards improving services in all... More

The staff was very friendly. The courtyard was very nice. The room was stark, but clean. There is a full breakfast for purchase. The price was reasonable. Spanish and English is spoken. The shower had plenty of hot water. The staff was very helpful with taxis and plane arrangements. We walked to the zocalo. It was a long walk, but... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a very precise review. The walk to the downtown area (Zocalo) is 2.3 miles (about 45 minutes walking); at this altitude it might seem a little bit more. Based on your comment we will have staff at the front desk recommend public transportation over walking to get to the Zocalo. Jorge More

We were happy with the location, the very friendly staff, and the unique personality of the property. The room was small, but comfortable and secure. We stayed in room 109 which is next to the front entrance and can be noisy. We could hear others coming and going through the front door during the night. More

Thank you for your kind words about Casa Gonzalez. We are aware the room you had could be noisy and are working towards improving that problem. We have already changed the windows and installed double pane windows that block most of the noise from the street. We will be replacing the door and installing carpet in the hall outside to... More

We choose Casa Gonzales for 3 days stays after reading all the positive reviews on TA and since we didn't want to stay in one of those faceless chain hotels. While Casa Gonzales is located in a nice and quiet area of the Zona Rosa district, within walking distance to some good restaurants & bars as well as the major... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your detailed review. We are working towards correcting every issue you mention. I just want to note the hotel you stayed in downtown is in an area where the average hotel rate is much lower than where we are located. More

My partner and I just spent three very nice nights at the Casa Gonzalez. It was my second visit to Casa Gonzalez and I wouldn’t consider any other place in Mexico City. The hotel is built from two or three classic homes. It seems absolutely secure and convenient to Chapultapec park and the Zona Rosa, but on a very quiet... More

I recently stayed for several nights after a family member helpfully recommended Casa Gonzalez as his favourite hotel in Mexico City. The hotel has a pleasant, home-like atmosphere and friendly staff. My room was bright, simple and clean. The one downside was the window facing the street. I was warned that this could be noisy . . . there wasn't... More

Casa Gonzalez is a lovely place to stay in Mexico City. We stayed for 2 nights, and found the main staff to be very courteous, helpful and friendly. The rooms were simple and clean, complete with in-room safe. The beds were on the small side, so be prepared to fight for space with your partner if you are tall/wide. The... More
