I'm not sure why this is the number 1 hostel in Mexico City. The others must be pretty bad. Our room smelt damp and moldy and could've been cleaner. It's pretty noisy despite being on a quiet street. They don't provide a laundry service as advertised on the net. On the positive side, it's in a good location and the... More

My husband and I stayed at Dos Fridas for a couple of days...the rooms and the bathrooms are clean. The staff is friendly and the building is located in a safe area (less than a block away from the US Embassy) The olnly bad things I can say is that the price is a bit expensive...I saw the sign that... I stayed at Dos Fridas y Diego recently for my birthday during my first trip to Mexico. I spent 9 days in Mexico City, and Dos Fridas y Diego added a positive aspect to my trip. The staff were friendly and personable, and provided us tips about what to do and which buses to catch. Claudia and Julio were sweet,... More

A family owned Hostel, very clean, warm and friendly. The homemade breakfast is really good. Located in a nice and safe area. Perfect place to stay in Mexico when travelling by your self!! They also have private rooms if you are a couple or a family.

This hostel is on a quiet side street, centrally located behind the American embassy. It is very small and cramped and when I arrived in the evening I thought I was in the wrong place. I stepped into what looked like a small living room with strong cooking smells throughout. My assigned room was spacious, and the bed cozy and... More

cheap, clean but noise near the street. Breakfast is wonderful. Boss is very nice. But service of the boss wife is not good. At 10 pm, we want to drink some hot water, but the wife of boss don't allow us to use kitchen.the boss told us if we leave hotel early, we could tell his wife to prepare breakfast.but when we... Having travelled on from Mexico City and meeting/speaking to other travellers at our hostels I was SO glad that we chose to stay here. It seemed that everyone we met who stayed in the hostels north of, or near, the Zocalo had a vastly different experience of Mexico City. Everyone I spoke to, and I really do mean everyone, who... My 5 friends and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Mexico City. We had 3 people per room and shared a bathroom. We loved the colorful decor of the place, the delicious breakfasts (menu changes everyday!) and most of all, the staff. They were the first people we met on our trip to Mexico City and we are... Great breakfast, kitchen service and kind people. Be careful if you do the reservation by internet, we choose a room with bathroom but had none and had to pay the same anyway. Also, we had a hard time trying to sleep at night with the screechy doors and noisy neighborhood. The door bell was pretty loud too

I stayed here for a short visit to Mexico City. The street the hostel is on has a lot of cafes and restaurants, especially at night, but it is not a party street. It is about a 20 min walk to my favorite artsy neighborhood, Condesa. It felt very safe and the staff were helpful, friendly, and responsive. The decor... More
