This small B&B was the perfect February respite for our Canadian family. With 2 side-by-side rooms on the ground floor, we rarely saw other guests. It felt as if we had the place to ourselves! The rooms were very well-appointed with lots of built-in storage, king-sized comfy beds and clean, contemporary bathrooms. The water needed to be run for a... More

El Secreto is beautiful and in a good location however, my friend and I found it quite impersonal and much more like an hotel than a B&B. The language barrier was probably the biggest problem we had. We expected that there would be someone around most of the day to whom we could speak English to but this was not... More

We loved El Secreto. The location was perfect, right next to the walls of the Jardin etnobotanico! The room was very small but cozy and clean...and the bathroom made up for it as it had a wonderful shower area. Breakfasts were awesome and the kitchen area just felt like home. Juan was very nice and attentive and so were the... More

I travel to Oaxaca frequently and, since a friend referred me to El Secreto, I always stay there. It is a beautiful place, tastefully decorated with a mix of contemporary and traditional design. Valentina is a great chef and Juan an attentive host. Noise during breakfast can wake you up, but there is always Valentina's food to cheer you up.

In contrast to many of the hotels/B&Bs in colonial Mexico, this hotel has a modern feel - rather than a courtyard, it has common space in the new kitchen/living/dining room and a lovely rooftop terrace. With only three rooms and a few blocks' distance from the Zocalo, it was a very quiet setting. The downside to this was that it... More

I really cannot say enough nice things about this little hotel. The Staff is first rate. I enjoyed the 4 day stay - clean, safe, easy to find but a little north of the action. FANTASTIC breakfast included. Free internet and computer/printer for your use. Free Calls to USA/Canada. You have your own keys to the place - a small... More

When I found El Secreto in Trip Advisor it looked pretty good, but when we arrived and met the people in charge of it it was totally amazing! Each room is decorated in a very traditional way, very comfortable bed and bathroom; each one also have a small semi-private yard with a table and a couple of chairs in case... More

We stayed at El Secreto B & B in Oaxaca and found it excellent. We felt as though we were at home. It is modern, extremely clean and very tastefully decorated. Our room led onto a little private patio. Its location is perfect for enjoying Oaxaca. Our son joined us for the last night and he thought it was the... More

This is a lovely modern B&B in the center of Oaxaca. Local art mixed with modern amenities. The 3 rooms are on the ground floor at the back of the house which makes them very quiet and easy to access. We stayed in Azalea which has a private patio and would be the perfect choice for a romantic stay. The... More
