The marvelous Mayaland Hotel was as splendid as I has remembered, but far less touristy. Located on the edge of the incredible Chichen Itza World Heritage Site, the Hotel is a lush romantic retreat. The hotel was built in 1923, I think, and the Mayaland's owners actually owned the land that ruins are on until 2011 when they sold it to... More

We stayed one night only, arrived just before the tour bus crowd started leaving. The place was a zoo on arrival but an hour later the hotel was quiet, relaxed with the guests, staff and resident pheasant strolling the halls. Accommodation : we did the bungalow which was beautifully decorated and more than adequate. Had a bunch of weirdos next door who... More

Typical hotel for large groups of people and forniture pretty old. We chose the hotel for the unbeatable location (right outside secondary entry of Chichen Itza. Food in the restaurant was ok. View from the room nice. More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review on our property. Ours is a small hotel (just 54 rooms), so we really can not accomodate large groups. Our grounds are so extensive... you would never realize we are such a small facility! Our neighboring Lodge at Chichen Itza only accepts individuals and families unless all 39 rooms in our... More

Thank you so much to all the staff. The people in all of Yucutan, Quintano Roo and Campeche as well as in the hotel Mayaland and the Hacienda Uxmal. The rooms are well structured, the location is the best and can be found nowhere. Why people prefer to stay at the beach which is over populated instead of a beautiful,... More

This place is luscious...tropical, delightful and full of surprises. The birds, trees, staff, flowers, pools and bungalows create a sensational setting for romance and/or families. Every care is taken to providing the best service also. The paths meander through the manicured jungle landscaping with ease, leading to bungalows tucked away and through the trees. Wish there was a little more... More

My five year olds loved the grounds. They did not swim in the pools as it was unseasonably cool for late December, but loved running raround on the grounds. We really enjoyed being right next to Chichen Itza, especially when we beat the heat and the crowds for an early tour. We were upgraded to the bungalows on the property... More

free drink on arrival, found the staff very friendly.Food is good at inside and outside locations.Stayed in a bungalow which was very nice but there are three in a row so if you are the end one everybody walks past you.We booked for one night but extended to two nights and really enjoyed it.Now for the minor gripes, they provide free coffee... Just a beautiful stay, in what was for me, the perfect setting. The thrill of walking through the grounds and hearing the air filled with the tropical sounds of the jungle was a treat. More than adequate rooms, ours had a spacious balcony too, but to be honest very little reason to stay in there with the wonders of the... More

The Mayaland is a lovely hotel on beautiful grounds just outside the back entrance to the ruins. If you stay overnight, you simply cannot beat the location. The staff was very professional and welcoming, in particular the bartender at the little bar outside the entrance. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Ours actually had a view of the 'observatory' ruin!... More

Thank you for your visit. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are not happy that you did not enjoy our shrimp cocktail. We pride ourselves in using only fresh wild shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico. How would you like us to reemburse you for what you paid for the cocktail? More

Recently visited for my second time. Absolutely love this place, it feels like home. The Mayan staff is beyond amazing, so kind, courteous and service-oriented. They're a big reason why this place is so special. The resort has different types of accommodations, so be sure to do your research before booking. The food is amazing, most ingredients are locally grown... More
