The highlight of staying at El Jardin was experiencing the community that Rafa is working to create (which is still in process). I enjoyed the Saturday market that he hosts, and took advantage of both the restaurant on the property and the healers working on site. My singular best experience in Tulum altogether was the healing that I received from... More

I already had a biased opinion of the hostel being that my name is Frida. I loved it here! The staff was amazing, the groceries available for breakfast were delicious(best avocados EVER!), and all of the other guests where wonderful and friendly. Frida the dog was a sweetheart and there was a kitten (I'm sure full grown by now) that... More

I've travelled a lot around the world, and by far this is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in!! The staff was excellent, and the garden surroundings are beautiful!! A very Zen feeling all around the grounds with hammocks , and art work all over the place. You get a very welcoming feeling as soon as you step... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here in a private room and became so comfortable that we didn't want to leave. The room was spacious, clean and had one of the best showers in Mexico. The garden itself is beautiful and peaceful and gorgeous Frida was always quick to make friends with her guests. It is located close to an amazing... More

This hostel is a few blocks away from the center of town, so was quieter and more relaxed than the main Tulum hubbub. A garden in the courtyard provides an urban retreat. The community kitchen and free continental breakfast made for a comfortable gathering spot. Staff are friendly and helpful. Walls were covered with colorful murals, and hot showers with... More

We are older couple and felt very comfortable staying here in private room. Met lots of interesting people too. Room was spacious and clean. Had a cool bar and comfy lobby to hang out in w/ good music. Good wifi too.

We stayed in a private room upstairs. Rooms were basic but clean and functional. The hostel has a lovely setting and Frida (the dog) and her friends provided some entertainment. The bar/cafe attached to the hostel was really good too - Lydia makes great mojitos. The downside is that it is a little out of the main part of town.... More

My friend and I stayed there in a 5 beds female dorm. The place was very clean, staff was very helful and the breakfast were amazing! It is a little far from the beach, but you can take a bike (not so confortable...!) and reach it in 40 minutes. The place was also very quiet, nice garden and free internet... More

Arrive at El Jardin de Frida at night and you will immediately be taken by its inviting aura. Soothing illuminating lanterns, bookshelves that hold the wisdom of travelers passing through, and lush vegetation lead the path to the beautifully decorated private rooms. Hidden throughout Frida's garden are sculptures and hand painted secrets to uncover. A freshly cooked organic breakfast in... More

This hostal surpassed my expectations completely. This place is packed with lush tropical foliage, filled with artistic murals and creative pro-recycle decor, and the staff is amazing. Frida, the hostal mascot, is also the chief of security, but dont let her barking fool you. She is a total cuddlebug once she gets to know you. There is a nice lil... More
