Recently used Alastair Sawday's guide to find this inn in this very charming village. What a huge disappointment. Room smelled of dog and we left with our luggage covered in dog hair. The bar is filthy. Everything is slightly greasy. The restaurant smells of fish perpetually. This could be a really lovely place great bones. But the inn was recently... More

Our stay at the Masons Arms could not have been any more perfect. Upon our arrival, we received a complimentary upgrade to a cottage room at the same rate as we had booked for a smaller room. The room was fantastic with a whirlpool tub and a quiet location. We dined for all of our meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)... More

I booked the hotel only because none of the wonderful B7Bs were available. At 120GBP for a night in a "luxury cottage" my hopes were higher than they would normally have been for a place like this. Sadly it lived up to everything I thought it would be rather than what i had hoped for. The pub itself is great... More

I have stayed at the Masons Arms on 5 occasions and eaten there countless more times. I have just returned from a girlie weekend with my best pal and have to say I was a bit disappointed. Its been two years since we were last there and since this time we have learnt its been bought out by St Austell... More

visited the Masons arms when we stayed in Beer. Walked over the headland on the coastal path, took about an hour, then up the valley to the village and pub. Pub was very busy at lunchtime, but sat outside so not a problem. Good beers and nice sandwiches. also walked over to the National Trust water mill at the other... More

We have just returned for a two night stay in cottage 9. The room was excellent along with its location, the website does not do this place justice. Its picture perfect with excellent food (the best we have had in ages), friendly staff and a cosy log fire. Superb location for a get away break with excellent walks. More
