We have stayed with Rose many times at Casa Rosa, and Casona Rosa on Galeana which is fabulous and this review site addresses, over the years, but this time we stayed 2+ months at her apartment around the corner on a cross street. This is a lovely, traditionally Mexican 2 bedroom, 1 bath, fully furnished and equipped apartment home in... More

Casona Rosa was an amazing experience, we were made to feel so very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for our beautiful hostess Rosa, with her warm heart and open mind we soon became friends and shared many laughs together. Our room was so comfy and cosy, and Maria's breakfasts are to die for. All the rooms are tastefully... More

At first I was nervous about travelling to Mexico with a 3 year old and 1 year old, but Rosa put my mind at ease. Rosa is a diamond in the rough, the grandmother I wish my kids had back home. She let us use her stroller for day trips and had a pack-and-play for night time. She was always... More

Rose is what make this a great place. She is very friendly, and goes out of her way to help by offering suggestions and problem solving. She also has a computer she let us use. The room was nice, the bathroom a bit cramped but functional. Rose has a lot of experience in running a B&B/Inn. The price was reasonable.... More

Rosas house was absolutely stunning. The suite we were staying in was airy, bright and very tastefully decorated. We also had use of another separate room and an ensuite. Rosas recommendations were spot on, from things to see, to places to eat in. The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk away from the main sights. There was such... More

This was our first trip to Mexico, and Rosa and Maria welcomed us with open arms. Not only was the inn comfortable, roomy, and a great deal, but they helped us set up day trips with drivers to other towns, advised us where to go to dinner, and for a modest extra $6 each, fed us authentic Mexican breakfasts every... Excellent place to stay in stunning Morelia. In the historic center. Service and attention provided by Maria could not be better. I have travelled the world and have never been received in better fashion in a B&B. Maria speaks fluent english, is very informative and attends your very need. Right from the start she took care of my wife who... More

We had the opportunity to stop by and check out Casona Rosa today. The proprietor, Rose, showed us the entire place. It was very clean and cozy. The suites are very nice, comfortable, and accommodating. And Rose was a wealth of information regarding the community, Morelia itself, and other nearby cities. We definitely plan to do business with Casona Rosa...

Just a short two block walk from the Zocolo sits the lovingly restored Casa Rosa. Each room is unique and a tribute to the various regions of the state of Michocan with wonderful exhibits of their arts and crafts. This return visit, my friend and I were offered a choice of two suites in the Casa Rosa or the owner's... More

The Casona Rosa is not technically a hotel but a "European style inn". The location, in the heart of centro, is perfect for visiting all the must see tourist spots. Each "suite" is lovingly decorated with regional arts and crafts. The sheets may not be 800 count Egyptian Cotten but they are very nice as is the quality of the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Guests have said that while staying at Casona Rosa they got the feeling they were in a private hide-out of Frida Kahlo. La Casona is an inn just two blocks from the main street and Morelia's famous pink cathedral. It is a romantic, intimate place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are five suites each with private bathroom, access to a large, fully-equipped kitchen, several sitting areas and a formal dining room. The suites are situated around an outdoor patio area for relaxing. Much attention was paid to decorating each suite with locally made handcrafts.
