If you want a place to stay in Mexicali then this is it! The cabins are great and there is a lovely Italian restaurant on the complex. Breakfast was very good and the staff were the best they could not do enough for you 10/10

the view of the pool is wonderful, the rest is old and run down. service non existent, breakfast dining room too busy to find a seat. if you have a room overlooking the street, it is noisy day and night. the coffee machine in the room was broken. too expensive for such old and run down settings.

The hotel has several room configurations, being the tower rooms the worst. Elevator is slow and lacks air conditioning. People tend to cook in their rooms or bring food and smells all over. The place looks ok from the outside, but if you stay in the Villas (I've stayed in the normal rooms as well) it's a fantastic experience. Their restaurant is very good as well (try their mexican buffet)

I loved the food at Los Portales Restaurant, Lucerna Hotel, Mexicali, BC. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of excellently prepared food items. The dinner menu was well prepared and tasty.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was always someone who could speak English and if someone could not - they quickly got someone who did.
