We've recommended the Devonshire Arms to some friends as we'd always had a positive experience so the five of us dined there on 17th May. There was a sincere and genuine warm welcome from all of the staff on arrival and the service all evening was excellent. The staff are so nice, friendly, helpful and efficient. the surroundings are quality and classy yet... We have just returned from our 2 week stay in a rental cottage in Beeley and ate at the Devonshire Arms four times. Previous years the service has been disappointing, food a bit "samey" and the staff a little unfriendly, which is a real shame as it is not cheap - but this time it is much improved. The staff... We stayed for a couple of nights on a walking visit to Derbyshire. We had a lovely peaceful, clean room on the top floor of the adjacent building with beautiful views. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom quite large with bath/shower, robes, the hospitality tray had some delicious filter coffee and biscuits plus a selection of teas and hot chocolate.... More

We stayed two nights in a room in Dove cottage just across the road from the Devonshire Arms. It was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious and thoughtfully had local guide books, books to read and DVD's to watch. That bed was really comfortable, we had a great range of teas and ground coffee for a cafetiere, which we have never... More

A great stay in a most tranquil part of the country. The restaurant was in a lovely glass fronted area and the food was good. The burgers are to be recommended. One thing to bear in mind when booking is one or more rooms have the roll top bath and sink actually in the room - as in open plan-... More

We stayed for two nights on a DB&B basis, inclusive of entry to Chatsworth (which is a deal well worth having). Our room was in Brookside Cottage, a few steps from the main building and, like it's name indicates, situated beside a babbling brook. The room was great - lovely outlook, comfy bed, good quality bathroom.Only slight issue was a... More

Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights on our way back from a weeks holiday in the Cotswolds and was delighted with what we found. We stayed in the building adjacent to the pub and our room was warm, comfortable, very clean and well furnished. We had dinner both nights and the food was of a very high standard... More

As big fans of Chatsworth farm shop where the staff are pristine & the service & quality excellent we knew that the Dukes pub food should be excellent too. First impressions - a sign on the bar saying 'cash only' when I enquired further I was told the card machine was down, fine that happens, but if you want to... More

After having stayed at DA at Bolton Castle was initially disappointed on arrival, as this is definitely Pub/Restaurant with rooms. There are little things missing, like no shower caps, bulb out in bedroom,no real welcome and anonymous Manager, and why those weird mirrors! Small things that could easily be rectified. The beds are comfortable, our bathroom lovely with plenty hot... More
