While the accommodation was pretty basic it was what I expected at the price and the location is great. The bathroom was clean but the carpets needed a very serious vacuum. My major complaint is that for 3 nights in a row the noise from rowdy groups prevented any sleep. Other reviews suggest this has been an ongoing concern but... More

The Driftwood Inn is on Banff Avenue right in downtown Banff. Considering a dorm in a hostel is close to $40CAD we are staying in a room with two double beds with private bathroom with tub and shower for $99CAD. It seems the Ptarmigan group is taking over a range of hotels in the area, and the check in is... More

Value for money was fantastic (I was staying in off season). The rooms were a bit out dated but were still in good condition, pleasant enough and a very good size. Location was great and use of the spa pool next door was an added bonus. More

My friend and I stayed here for the second time in two years for the Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival. We have never had any problems. For how much you stay in your hotel while traveling it does the trick. More

The Driftwood is a basic value budget hotel. Very basic decor but for the price it is great. There are three hotels on the same property and the ameneties are located in the main hotel which is the Ptarmigan Inn. Yes, the Driftwood could use some upgrading, however, the price will no doubt also go up to reflect any improvements.... More

Good location and a keen price for basic but adequate and clean accommodation. Only issue is noise, from the corridor, outside the window and also the horn of a train passing through. Take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper like me. More

Stayed at the Driftwood Hotel after booking via Crystal Ski Holidays on the 16th March 2011. Despite looking at previous reviews which overall did not seem too bad we thought the hotel would be OK for our needs as we would only be sleeping in the room, (or so we thought)? On arrival we collect the key from the Ptarmigan... More

I found the location to be perfect right on Banff ave. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. One of the girl's at the front desk named Sophie even brought us around Banff on her day off. Cheap prices and a great stay! More

This motel is a dump. It is owned and run by the Ptarmigan Inn next door and they really don't care about you if you're staying here, absolutely no service. Housekeeping was ok, but since none of the empoyees are in this building people get really loud, and also the building is so old that you can here everyone talking... More

We do our best to keep an eye on the levels of noise in the Driftwood Inn, and even hire security guards to patrol the building; we are sorry to hear that we were not successful during your stay and will improve this area in the future. The building dos in fact have heat; however we do not have air... More
