The house is amazing. Beautiful place to stay. Was there for a wedding on Thursday. Only downfall was the Gardner who kept drinking all the coffee and helped himself to the beer cooler... he literally hung around the wedding party until 9:30 when the brides mom finally asked him to leave. He was very creepy and was constantly watching us all. 😳 Other than that it was a great place but I'd suggest locking your car doors.

Unit smelled of mold & mildew, sheets appeared filthy so we slept on top and not in the bed. Mattress was old and dirty and sagged, we actually slept on the floor the 2nd night. We paid for 4 nights and left after only 2. Could not ask for refund as there was no one onsite for the entire stay, nor could we voice our concerns as the owner left for the weekend! Cobwebs in the shower, no security from owners suite as there is only a curtain separating the unit and could not be locked from the suite. The ONLY good thing about this establishment is the view but would be better if windows were cleaned. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Beautiful Location but that's where it ended. Very run down and needing an update on furniture , rug, bathroom . Run had stains. Shower had black mold!! Towels were sour smelling along with being so thin. Bathroom vanity an old dresser which the wood was so worn from water it was gross. We bought our own towels to use. I used my clean t-shirt over the pillow as it also smelled. One toilet paper roll!!. No paper towels. Little seating area old pillows and blanket . not appealing. WE will never to again and at $157 per night the owner should be ashamed !

We had two earlier stays and just had to come back. Charlie is the most welcoming host we have ever experienced. Nothing is too much trouble for him. The apartment is so comfortable and the views are fantastic. This inn is right on the seafront and the waves lap gently below your window. It is so quiet and peaceful but also has the town within easy reach. If you are looking for a really romantic and peaceful hideaway this is the place. You will not regret it!

You will probably never find such a great location again! Literally right on the beach with the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks! Truly a romantic and secluded hideaway. This is our second stay. Charlie is a fantastic host and very friendly and accommodating. He takes a personal interest in all guests and greets you with a friendly smile. The location is superb and the accommodation clean , warm, spacious and with great views. Chemainus restaurants are five minutes away but it is just as nice to stay in and eat and drink while taking in the great views. We had another great stay and we will be back!

We actually didn't sleep very well as from Bookings.com description we thought Castle Cove Inn was an Inn with Private Accomodations. Description needs to be corrected as it was a former Bed n Breakfast We had the "Wine Cellar" which is really a rumpus room with a view. As there is a connecting door at top of stairs hidden only by a curtain between the Owners living area and the Rental Unit. This door cannot be locked from the rental side. The Rental Unit is not secure without it's own door at bottom of stairs. The towels and bedding are poor quality, the furniture and bed are uncomfortable and the unit is not clean. We will not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Cancelled room through booking.com, then asked hotel for refund. The hotel took my credit card payment. I advised hotel I would be staying the night for original booking. The hotel rented my room again and refused to refund my room payment.

Lovely looking and great host Charlie, however it really needs updating. Not 5 star more like 3. Attention to detail and finish needed looking at. Great location overlooking the sea and a big outdoor deck to sit on and watch the sun go up or down and the wildlife go by. We saw otters on more than 1 occasion.

Travel delays caused by smoke from wildfires meant I suddenly found myself in need of a place to stay overnight. I found this lovely place. Charlie was a wonderfully friendly host. And I'm sure the oceanfront location would have been spectacular had we not been shrouded in smoke at the time.

This place has the view but it has been neglected. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know. The king bed slumps in the middle. The windows dont open. Ripped cushions had blankets on them & spiders too. The owner was nice but he needs to do some major major cleanup. This is NOT a 5 star..maybe a one cuz the sheets were clean. Stay elsewhere unless Charlie guarantees he has pressure washed all the mold, reglued the falling tiles, cleaned the carpets,bedding,cushions...etc etc...
