Really friendly owner and staff. Well equipped kitchen and laundry. Rooms a bit noisy (wooden floors and thin walls) but really comfortable and clean. Great location walking distance to town. Free internet. Very impressed

Staff informative and great. Rooms clean and comfy. Affordable. Within walking distance of everything and even a great "resident" discount for cafes in Cow Bay area (don't leave town without trying a seafood meal @ Dolly's). We have stayed here twice within a fortnight - so that must mean something to you other travellers...

We stayed at the Pioneer Backpackers Inn for 2 nights and we really liked it. The rooms are small, but very comfortable. It is clean, free wifi and the staff was always very helpful. So this comes with a good price for this area (for HI Hostel members even cheaper). The Hostel: It has nice living area in the front,... More

Stayed here for 6 hours between the ferry from Port Hardy and the Skeena train to Jasper. This is a clean, functional, freshly decorated hostel with friendly staff, who picked us up from the ferry. On the downside, the bed squeaked every time we moved and this made for an uncomfortable night's sleep.

Thank you for your valuable feedback to let us know there was something to fix! Despite my untimely response, we did fix the bed the next day after reading your review so it no longer squeaks. Cheers, Christy More

This is a hostel but there are limited rooms as self contained suites and I loved mine! All Ikea furniture, clean, quiet and a beautiful bathroom and shower. Friendly service at the desk and a sitting area to meet travelers if you are so inclined.

We've been camping across the Pacific Northwest and got into Prince Rupert via the car ferry very late and it was raining. We spent a cozy night at this small inn which offers inexpensive (for Canada!) dorm and private rooms in a historic building. Bathrooms are shared but there are an ample number of them and they are modern and... More

Hi Deb! Excellent! So pleased you enjoyed your stay here with us; there are also private rooms with en-suite bathrooms available to guests as welll (good to reserve ahead, as they tend to book out...) Just a note to travelers - alcohol is actually allowed. If you would like to have a few beers, or a bottle of wine we... More

Sadly I was on the skeena train trip, so I only had a bare 12 hours there and it wasn't enough! Lovely old building on the outside, lovely on the inside. I had a bed in the dorm which was very comfy, shower was clean and well kept. The free shuttle from the VIA station was a god send, and they... More

Sat on the Skeena Via Rail train less than two hours from Prince Rupert on a Sunday evening in late January I had brightly declined to prearrange any accomodation for my stay. Fortunately for me a kind gentleman spun me in the direction of the Pioneer Backpackers Inn. I was able to phone and book a single room in this... More

I was well impressed by the place; it's an old house nicely renovated and it's clean. I liked the idea of being also a student house, you meet more people.
