A Truly Victorian Heritage InnAmethyst Inn is a fully-restored historic mansion dating from 1885. A few of our many features are 13 foot ceilings, period furniture and antiques. There are cosy fireplaces in most rooms. In the parlour we serve a full breakfast on antique crystal and china. To help you unwind there are jacuzzis in some of our rooms, and dont worry about your car: we have lots of secure, free parking on our property.

Our stay at The Amethyst Hotel was an utter disaster from start to finish. The rooms were disgustingly dusty, with carpets so filthy you'd hesitate to step foot on them barefoot. Garbage littered the property, painting a bleak picture of the management's lack of care. The host was not only unfriendly but downright rude and seemed to be in a perpetual rush, showing no regard for our comfort or needs. To add insult to injury, the breakfast provided was not only unappetizing but also made my husband violently ill. The dining area was a nightmare, with dirty napkins and tablecloths strewn about haphazardly. And if the appalling hygiene wasn't enough, the room itself reeked of mildew, making it impossible to breathe comfortably. We couldn't leave that dreadful place soon enough. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of The Amethyst Hotel.

This is definitely a hidden gem and a must-stay place in Victoria BC. It is close to every attractions you might already been planning on visiting in Downtown Victoria. The breakfast is served promptly and hot and scrumptious!! You will never leave the table hungry and it will definitely give you energy for sightseeing. They will also ask you if you have dietary restrictions or allergies in advance so they can plan your breakfast in advance. The property is well-kept, clean and still has its charm. I am in awe when I first see the lobby and the dining hall. The pictures cannot justify how gorgeous it is. The room that we booked was the Rendezvous Room and it came with the jet tub. Which was for me, one of the highlights of the room. Perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking around. It came with a fireplace and two bottles of water in the fridge. I can’t stress enough how I fell in love with this inn. The innkeeper, I think her name was Amy ( I am so sorry, I forgot your name :’< ) is so helpful, accommodating, friendly and gave us a warm welcome upon arriving. Overall, it’s a 15 out of 10 experience!! And would definitely come back!

Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Stunning old property with interesting antiques and decor throughout, a fantastic way to slow down, step back from the present and imagine life 100 years ago. Breakfast served in the gorgeous dining room was the highlight of the stay. A delicious 3 course breakfast seved on old china with white linen cloths and old silverware and cutglass. The host was lovely, friendly and welcoming. Rooms were quiet and beautifully furnished with period peices. Bed was amazing, very comfortableb with lovely linens. Parking was great.

Needed to share with you details of our amazing night at the Amethyst Inn. We had traveled for over 24 hours and arrived in the early hours and were desperate to get looked after without hassle or stress, so what a relief to be greeted by Serena, she was just what we needed and gently made sure we had everything we needed as she showed us to our upgraded room which was lavish in amenities and style but most importantly peaceful and homely. We had intended to just sleep and leave but the smell from the restaurant was too tempting to stay in bed. Aimee made me feel so welcome and kept the breakfast and coffee coming until I was truly stuffed she enthusiastically accommodated my daughters wish for breakfast in bed and willing shared a conversation about the beauty of the hotel and Victoria. She did everything in her power to make us feel no request was too much effort and that we were more friends than guests. This really was a perfect stay.

This is a beautifully maintained old home which has been converted to a bed and breakfast. The owner provides exceptional service and the assistant we saw was very helpful and well informed about the history of the home. The breakfast was spectacular with meals including lots of fruit and egg creations like omelettes and French toast with home baked croissants or scones etc. we will definitely be back and will recommend this B and B to others.

Tom is the Inn keeper who assisted us during our stay. Tom is friendly and helpful. The Inn still has its original charm. Breakfast delicious! Quick walk to Craigdorrach castle and beautiful neighborhood for a stroll. You can catch a bus across the street to downtown. Day pass 5.00

I was delighted with this place, starting with the check in, we arrived so late and they were there to help us so late at night, the house is divine, so charming with historic vibes. For breakfast they accomodated our food needs and the staff was very friendly offering recommendations and chatting with every guest. It was quiet, and the living room was the most comfortable to have tea or coffee, which was available anytime. I have no complaints at all, only good thins to say and I would definitely recommend it.

I never do reviews and this was the worst experience I have ever had. I had spoken to the inn on the day of arrival and the night before and no one mentioned that there was major construction happening. We had to literally walk over 4*4 wood blocking the staircase to get to our room. And maneuver around ladders and workers painting everywhere. Our room was changed and we were placed in a freezing cold dark room on the top floor. When asked about breakfast my husband and I could only eat the same choice of meal. The dinning room and all living spaces were empty and construction equipment was all over the place. No one else was there. My first B and B and we were there for a family emergency in victoria and frantically panicking to find another hotel at 5 pm was unfortunate. The inn didn’t find it necessary or respectful to even notify of the events taking place to at least let us change or reservation or find alternative.

We liked everything here. Thomas was an exceptional host, going beyond anything we expected. He made sure everything was perfect. The Inn was absolutely lovely and we hope to stay here again. Of course, everyone raves about the breakfasts. Without a doubt the best B&B brekkies we have ever experienced. There was nothing we didn’t like about the Amethyst Inn. A perfect place to begin to explore Victoria on our bikes.
