Horrible, the mattress is just the worst I’ve ever used, the air conditioning is poor and the staff that they call Ras are rude, unfriendly and untrained. They are extremely unprofessional and i would definitely not recommend this place, it’s cheap compared to hotels but not worth the money. The area is also not that safe.

A nice clean room available (with limited amenities.) (A dorm that they rent out during the summer months.) It is secure building. No free parking (with the exception of some street parking from 5:30pm-9am.) There are a couple lounge rooms with wifi, some seating, and a little kictchen area. The bed is your basic dorm bed, so not as comfy as a hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It's on the edge of the downtown area, but still walking distance to many Winnipeg highlights. Definitely a good place to stay if you are on a budget.

This hotel worked well for me. I was on a research trip and needed something cheap and near the archives I needed to access. This fit the bill, but don't expect much in the way of amenities. As a university residence, I didn't expect much in the way of comfort - the bed was a single and felt more like a saltine cracker than anything else and provided a poor nights sleep. However, I did have my own private room with private ensuite bathroom, a desk and a mini fridge, but one night I was there was so incredibly hot and I basically dehydrated myself to sleep as the window did not fully open and there were no in-suite temperature controls. The staff is only on the desk until 11, so make sure that you arrive and get all the things you need before then. Also, before you arrive ensure you notify staff - you have to have a key to get in. As I soon found out, although the area is four blocks from the legislature, it is well known for gang activity, so beware after dark. Probably the most inconvenient element was the lack of wifi in the rooms - you have to go to the common areas to get any sort of signal on your devices which, as a traveler, I found incredibly annoying.…

The biggest selling point of this hostel is its proximity to the University of Winnipeg campus and downtown (only 5 minutes away from the Bay). The reception desk was very helpful but you could only access it during certain times of the day. The accomodation itself is very basic and comes with Air Con. In order to access the wireless internet you'll have to go to the lounge (which gives you a nice view of downtown and the provincial legislature building). I found rooms a bit overpriced in compare to other hostels I've been to for a single room (you'll have to pay more for a doubles room if you are traveliing as a couple or family). They do offer long term rate if you are doing a long term stay. Because it's actually the student dorms, you can only check in in the summer months.
