We spent three nights in this beautifully renovated b&b. Our hosts were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of things to see and do in St. John's, and sat with us every morning to chat while we ate breakfast. Great location, easy walk down the hill to restaurants, shops and the harbour. Extremely clean room, modern ensuite bathroom. Great selection for breakfast - everything we wanted for our stay!

Stayed mid June for 4 days. Great location, and host has parking passes which allows one to park extremely close to the hotel. The host is almost always on site is very attendant to your needs. Breakfast is wonderful, and there is a common fridge and microwave that can used anytime. Rooms are charming, but modern in amenities. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Balmoral House for 6 nights and I don't think we could have picked a better place. Room was clean and comfortable with spectacular view of ocean. House was beautifully decorated and quiet. Location was close to downtown and lots of attractions. Breakfast was self serve which we liked. But the best part was the hosts. David and Cherry (sorry if wrong spelling!) were so helpful and attentive to our needs. If there was something we needed they would make sure we got it in minimal delay. We learned so much about St. John's and Newfoundland during our breakfast chats and they gave us really good suggestions on places to visit. Thank you both for making our first trip to St. John's so memorable!

Beautifully decorated period home with great info on St John's (eg Veiled Virgin)! Loved the breakfast flexibility, especially the Genie! Lots of local history and current events. Walk downhill (or bus or Jiffy) to all St John's sites. Thanks Dave.

We stayed here for three nights at the end of a three week trip all around Newfoundland. Room was really lovely and sparkling clean. Great location close to Water and Duckworth streets. The area is very hilly so you get your exercise in walking around here. If you have mobility issues you would need to forget walking and just drive around which is easy to get the hang of in St. John’s. David, the owner, lives in the building and is happy to provide recommendations. Great little B&B find.

Stayed here for a romantic getaway and visit to the city, and it was absolutely fantastic. Having a self serve breakfast worked best for us as we were on no fixed schedule. The quality of the room was amazing and was really comfortable and relaxing. The view we had of the narrows was ideal.
