Please be careful this place is not always safe. I organized a youth group during the Circus Fest who stayed here and the owner did not share with me there were people dealing with mental health instability in their lives living here permanently. Two of our youth chaperones were verbally assaulted and one was prevented from accessing her room by one of the tenants living there. Strongly recommend exercising caution if you wish to stay here as these people view the place as their home and not a hostel which creates problematic situations for sharing the space.

What a great friendly place. The staff is awesome the beds are comfortable and everything is clean and cozy. I’ll be back for sure. The staff suggested great spot to visit and invited us to join in their events. Great laughs. Close to everything. Well done.

This is such a friendly hostel, not too busy, clean rooms and a great location for all the downtown activities and a great starting point for accessing the East Coast Trail. Thankyou for having me! 💚

We had an amazing stay at this hostel. Although the layout of building was a bit cramped, it was very clean. The staff had recommendations for tourist attractions, a Screech-in location, restaurants, and good shopping. They were friendly and asked about our plans for the day every time we saw them. I cannot emphasize enough how much more pleasant they made our vacation. The location is very walkable to downtown. 10/10 would stay here again.

This is the friendliest hostel I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot of hostels. The staff take the time to get to know new people, and often hang out with guests in the common room or go out and do things together. Guests often arrive solo and leave with new friends. The staff clean the hostel top to bottom every day, and really do their best to go the extra mile. When I stayed the hostel wasn’t busy, but I can imagine it could get quite crowded in peak season; just get ready to have some good chats and make friends!

It was a please to stay in that hostel at the beginning and the end of our trip. We stayed in room 3 with 2 bunked beds. It was very quiet. The staff was amazing. They helped us book our next hostel as well as our screech in experience, always providing good advice. The building is pretty old and the kitchen is very small but it has a certain charm. I loved it.

My partner and I stayed in a private room with our own shower. The room was clean and the staff/ volunteers are lovely and helpful. They were always accommodating, whether we wanted to do a load of laundry or ask some questions about what we should do for the day. We always got invited in the activities, whether it was a movie night, breaky or a pub night with everyone in the hostel. We didn't attend any of these as we were busy ramming stuff into our days there but we thought the invites were adorable and we really appreciated the offers. Dave is the owner and he was unbelievably kind and welcoming. The location is great- about a 15-20 minute walk to George Street. Would definitely recommend this hostel!
