We stayed in the very big and luxurious McDonald room here which had the most amazing view out back that overlooked the lake. It was super clean place (being a fragrance-free house) and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was great - delicious omelettes and pancakes - all served on beautiful silverware! Owner Keith was a lovely and attentive host... More

The atmosphere was a little too upset and found hostess a bit uptight and detached. Not very naturlly relaxed at all. One long run of slippery stairs to get up and downstairs...watch your step and forget this place if you are having health issues. Rooms are super bright at very early morning...don't bother trying to sleep in. Won't go there... More

My sisters, their husbands and my husband and daughter just spent 2 nights at the Tulloch Inn. It is very difficult to find anything available in early May in the Lake Ainslie, Baddeck area but the Inn was open for business. The owners, Elizabeth and Keith, were very accommodating for our family who were in town for our mother's memorial... More

Booked ahead of time as the website showed a fantastic place. When I initially arrived after a wending route through a lonely and broken back route, I was greeted (at what seemed the front door but is actually the back kitchen door) by an unpleasant and rude old woman who'd darted her finger to the actual entrance and quickly shooed... We and another couple stayed with Keith and Elizabeth for two days this past month. We had the Ross room, a large room with French doors opening onto a nice big balcony overlooking the lake. And what a beautiful lake it is. We went to bed on a lake and woke up on an ocean with the white caps so... More

Very remote but worth the drive. The hosts are super friendly. Food was amazing, and all locally grown in Elizabeth's backyard garden! Comfortable and clean room inside of an impeccably maintained house in the country. Breakfast is by reservation, so don't forget to sign up for a time slot. Beautiful landscaping.

Peaceful, tranquil, superb views, friendly hosts, superb accommodation, great food - what more could you ask for when looking for a place to stay in this beautiful area? We were there for only one night and combined it with an evening at Glenora Distillery where we enjoyed some top-notch ceilidh music.

The Tulloch Inn is beautifully situated on a lake but has no lake access. It is far removed from everything in the area. We were told it was just "a short distance" to Cape Breton Island. The drive out of the property took almost 20 minutes alone! The breakfast was delicious both days but we found the inn much too... More

A wonderful place to enjoy the ambiance of Lake Ainslie, you willl not want to leave. Dinner and breakfast is served in their dining room and is delicious. What a great balcony overlooking the lake! The hosts, Keith and Betty, will make this a special get away. Everything is there for you to escape a busy schedule.

Right from the get go this place seemed awesome. Just the cheerfulness of Elizabeth and Keith on the phone to their professional and friendliness when we got there. On our trip to Nova Scotia each member of the family chose a bed and breakfast to stay in and this was mine because I wanted to stay in Cape Breton but... More
