I attended a weekend retreat at the Pictou Lodge in the spring, which was wonderful. The facilities were good, the food better! and the staff excellent. Loved the early morning walk on the beach, and the later evening sitting at the lookout with a glass of wine. The cottages looked wonderful, however I was in one of the rooms, which... More

We arrived on a beautiful summer day to lovely beachside resort! The front desk staff were friendly and informed. They handed us the Bride & Groom to be arrival bags and directed us to our cottage! Our cottage was clean and comfortable. The dining room food was excellent! The wedding setup was superb-overlooking the ocean! Her wedding decorator did a... More

We spent several days here. What a beautiful location overlooking Northumerland Strait towards Prince Edward Island. The Lodge is surrounded by cabins and cottages of various sizes and configurations; we had a three bedroom two bath - it was very spacious, comfortable and offered a full kitchen and all other amenities. The location cannot be beat - all cabins are... More

Stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was quiet as the season was coming to an end but that didn't affect the friendly and attentive service. Our room in one of the older cabins was very comfortable and had all the facilities we wanted. The resort may be old but it has been well maintained and its history... More

10 members of the class of '69 held our nursing school reunion this past weekend at Pictou Lodge. It wasn't a significant year, but we had so much fun at our 40th reunion, that we wanted to get together again. Most came from Quebec and Ontario with one from BC. We had a fabulous time. We rented 2 -3 bedroom... More

We stayed her for two days in August. We stayed in room C9 (Birches Queen) which was close to the office and had a great view of the morning sunrise. The rooms were very clean but outdated. Staff was very friendly. We ate once in the dining room but I did think that it was over priced for the quality of... More

PIctou lodge chalets are great. We like the original log ones built in the 1920s. They also have excellent new ones. Our cabin has everything you could ask for. living room kitchenette wood stove screened in veranda (excellent for rainy days like today) Resturant offers excellent food, several choices and good size portions

As soon as I drove up the long entrance in to the property I knew it wasn't just special...it was PERFECT! I arrived without a reservation intending to stay a night or two but soon realized I had no intention of leaving as planned. Sherida at the front desk found me a great room and even in their busy season... More

Stayed one night en route to Breton Island. Not much accomodation in the area, which is why I guess our agent booked us here. The whole place is very sub-standard. A nice position but that's about all. Room very tired and ancient fittings/bathroom. Very poor soundproofing - why, when only about 6 rooms were occupied in the whole place did they... More

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway with friendly staff in coastal NS this is the place for you. If you are looking for luxury, it will be a dissappointment.
