Hotel's Favourite
I was staying here while visiting my daughter. I am a Hilton Honors member and try to stay at an affiliated hotel when I can. The hotel itself is fine- nothing particularly memorable except the staff. The front desk staff are not only very friendly, but they were super helpful and transparent about the fact that 3 tournaments were going to be there when I asked to extend my visit by one night. Because I was staying partly to have a place to work for the day- it was important that I have somewhere reasonable to work. They gave me a room on the first floor, at the end so I’d be away from most of the commotion. It was great. Spacious room, good work space- bed was fine. It’s a bit dated but my room was clean. The breakfast in the a.m. worked for me as I could grab it and go back to work. It was pricey for what you get, but the staff went above and beyond.

We had a 2 night stay booked but came back after being out for the day to find myself and our 3 kids locked out. I went to see what was the issue to be told by the front desk that I had to recheck in and also pay a second $200 incidental fee (I had paid this on the first night) and that the $400 total would be reimbursed upon check out but would take “3-4 days”. The worker was also stating that “she didn’t have time for this” as the phone was ringing. The staff at check in the night before were just as unprofessional. Will definitely not stay here again, I had overlooked the peeling wallpaper at the elevator, the very dated shower, with the shower head hanging off, but the poor customer service was the turning point

Sadly, this room was not up to par for Hilton’s. Food on the floor, trash items, and a dirty undergarment met our arrival in the room. Obviously have not been really cleaned well. It was a busy weekend in Guelph but children ran amok yelling all night unsupervised. There was nothing said or even suggested by management for consideration if other guests. Not a good night. Shorted blankets and towels too.

We’ve stayed in a lot of Hampton Inns in North America and this one is the worst. The positives: the bed was comfortable, the pool was good. The negatives: there was hair in bathroom (not ours), the toilet paper roll was almost empty (one use left), the room had a very strong smell of cheap cologne, my daughter was electrocuted by the door (electrical short in the lock), the walls and ceiling are thin (it was really loud at night), there were no gluten free options for breakfast (usually they offer us at least a frozen muffin, but not here), the coffee was the WORST! When I mentioned the electrical short on the door lock, the front desk said “sorry your daughter was electrocuted”. I told them they should really have an electrician look at it before putting anyone else in the room and she said “yeah”. I have a feeling that’s not going to happen. Live and learn. We won’t be staying here again. Next time stay at the Hampton inn in St Jacob’s. It’s a short drive and way better.

I wanted to enjoy my one-night stay at this hotel, and on the whole it was passable, but just. I did appreciate that for a standard room, there was both a microwave and fridge, not typical for a standard room in Hamptons. If it had not been for the friendly staff, in particular the nice lady in the breakfast area, my stay would have been very disappointing. The breakfast area had the typical full selection of Hampton offerings. In the room, the bathtub area was showing its age and seemed not as clean as could be. The vent in the bathroom ceiling was TRULY disgusting. So once you see any of these, you wonder what else is not up to snuff. Clearly the housekeeper didn't look close at the coffee maker on the desk, because the area was sprinkled with coffee whiter and/or sugar from the previous guest. Clearly, the housekeeping team is poorly supervised.

Room Tip: This hotel WAY on the north side of town, nowhere near downtown. However, it was in a quiet area.

I had an overnight stay here and while the staff were very friendly, the hotel lacked. It is located near a more industrial area so while there are nearby restaurants (Wendy’s, Tim’s, Ben Thanh, etc), it didn’t feel welcoming. When we visited, there was a hockey tournament happening and so most of the hotel rooms had kids and their parents. We ended up with a ground floor king suite that looked out to the parking lot. So, it was a long walk past the front desk, past the hotel laundry (and the smell of bleach), the cleaning supplies room, and hotel laundry before getting to our room. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. It felt odd as when the curtains were open, we just saw cars parking and people coming and going. The floor had smalls bits of debris on it, so it clearly had not been vacuumed recently. That made me wonder about the cleanliness of other areas. They seemed clean, but if the floor was not done, then other areas could have been easily skipped too. Breakfast was the usual hotel buffet. The coffee was terrible, but the self-made waffles were good.

I understand most hotels hold an amount for incidentals, but there is no mini-bar and no room service. So, it seemed odd. Breakfast is buffet style, more like a motel than a hotel. The indoor pool is definitely a plus. We returned late on Saturday night (1am) to the sound of very loud partying (not us). It took management until 4am to deal with the noise. All facilities were well maintained, but overall nothing special. Better deals abound.

Loved the hotel and staff from 2021, Very helpful but not anymore. Can' t blame the staff and managers for having a bad day on this one. Customer service is gone. In 2001, Me and my wife stayed at the Hampton Inn and suites By Hilton in Guelph. We stayed in the Juccuzzi room on three separate occasions in the year for special occasions. My wife called to book rooms this year to book more rooms for the year and was shocked at how she was treated by staff before booking. She was just asking why the rate had doubled in price and that made the person on the other side of the phone became angry. The next day I called to talk to the manager about how the person made my wife feel and something should be said to him. I asked again why the price was doubled form last year, just to find out and again the manager was getting upset at me asking why. DO NOT ASK PRICE. They get upset. I told the manager that I was curious why the double in price then asked me if Iwanted to book the rooms and I could tell that he was irate as well and said no. He hung up without saying anything.

HVAC broke and pumped very hot air into the room all night. We woke up at 4am and it was truly unbearable. Called and spoke to lone staff at desk they didn't know what to do and only after complaining and pleading with them for 20 minutes did they finally decide to put us in a separate room which he had to knock on several times before entering because he did not seem confident at all that no one was staying in it??? Talked to manager the next morning. Was initially unwilling to offer any compensation and actually didn't believe that it was still a sauna in the room at 10am making remarks about how we should have known to adjust the thermostat or switch the system to VIP Mode?!?! Had to push for assistance and finally the manager reluctantly told me to go back up and meet their maintenance guy at the room at which point they finally believed us. Even then, no refund was ever offered when we asked for compensation on a horrible night stay with them. They did reluctantly offer a credit on our next stay but only after we had to push the issue but I can guarantee you we won't be staying here again. Oh and our family members stayed in a separate room that absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke and they again wouldn't acknowledge the issue or offer any type of assistance. "The credit card has already been charged, and we can't offer a credit, its policy"
