Right in the hart of downtown Toronto, close to the C.N Tower and the air canada centre and a great place to stay with great staff good food and a great basement bar with very friendly staff, it is a short distance from the Train Station with loads of fabulous restaurants and bars in the close vicinity and only a... This small hotel was in a perfect location for our needs. It was within walking distance to the Blue Jays baseball stadium. There is a lot of construction going on now in Toronto so it was very difficult to find the hotel because of all the one way streets. The hotel does not have it's own parking garage but there... I ended up at Strathcona as nothing else was available closer to union station and meeting location. There is nothing favourable about this hotel other than its location. My room had a queen bed that took up most of the space. Certainly an european feeling! Hallway carpets smelled old and bad. The heating/radiator fan was noisy and traffic and construction... More

We stayed here one night as a convinient place in between the train station and the theater on King St. Certainly a more affordable alternative to the Royal York accross the street. A smart room, means basic. A box room with a flat TV on the wall, a bed, a closet and a bathroom. No room for a chair or... More

I was in town for Spirit of Toronto whisky event and I discovered on the day of the event that my original accommodation was unsuitable and too late to cancel. So I needed something economical and just a place to lay my head but wanted something close to Roy Thomson Hall. I found the economy twin at the Strathcona. As... More

I booked my room based on the reviewed provided for this hotel so I knew that I would be staying in a small room. It was smaller than I expected, but I was still pleasantly surprised by how well the room was laid out. The decor embraced the small size and not an inch was wasted. I didn't feel claustrophobic.... We stayed at the Strathcona for 3 nights in early April and found it to be a nice hotel, clean & tastefully decorated. We had a bite to eat (twice) at the popular pub and a nice breakfast in the restaurant. Part of its appeal is its size - it's not so big that you feel you're one of thousands... More

Got put here by the airline when they cancelled our flight. Tiny room (2 double beds). Ok for a place to sleep, and good location downtown. Wouldn't want to stay for more that a night. Room seemed clean, and bed was actually pretty comfortable as hotel beds go. For dinner try The Keg a few blocks north on York St.

I stayed in The Strathcona Hotel for four nights in April/May 2013 while attending a conference in downtown Toronto. The hotel is old but nicely renovated and clean. Excellent service, very good breakfast and overall good value for the money. I did not use swimming pool or spa, so I am not ranking them. Mariusz Bielawski Ottawa

The hotel is situated close to downtown, within walking distance of Union Station, Rogers Centre, CN Tower etc. Had to pay extra for parking (underground parking lot). Hotel has been recently refurbished. Rooms were small but well appointed. Unfortunately, our stay was hampered by extremely noisy neighbours and a police visit at 3:00 a.m. but that wasn't really the hotel's... More
