Wonderful place. Ken is a wonderful host, exceedingly helpful and friendly. Rooms nice, Located on a quiet street but close to bus and metro. I wen with my wife and another couple on the weekend of October 15-17. Ken was at the door to greet us on arrival & made our friends (who had never been to MOntreal) feel very... More

We had a lovely stay with Ken at his friendly B&B. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was very helpful with tips and suggestions for our days in Montreal. He even walked us down to the Bixi shop to make sure we had no problems renting bikes! His hospitality was exceptional which was exemplified by... More

My husband and I stayed with Ken in September 2009 and I meant to send in these comments long before now! What a great experience we had at Boulanger Bassin. The room itself was certainly not 5 star, although clean and comfortable with lots of hot water and a bathtub. The proprietor, customer service, and gourmet breakfasts were definitely 5... More

Ken, the proprietor, is the consummate host, charming, urbane, intelligent, engaging, and his breakfasts are memorable, relaxing, nourishing, and, most of all delicious. The Boulanger du Bassin is for people who do not like the impersonal hotels and want a place that has an intelligent and artful aesthetic. Ken understands discourse, he knows his community, he cares about his guests... More

Please save your money – sleeping on the streets would have been more comforting – Ken and his “companion” made us feel like dirt and lied several times to us about prices and rates….I cried the entire night ( we obviously left and found somewhere else to stay for the remaindered of our trip.... but ended up paying double for... My girlfriend and I decided to stay here for a short overnight in Montreal. Typically there is a two night minimum at Montreal B&B's but Ken made an exception because i booked and paid at the same time. Ken's house is in a very quaint peaceful, and friendly neighborhood that i very close to major bike avenues, La Fontaine Park... More

We've stayed with Ken about 10 times now over the years and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Ken is a delightful, outgoing host who will do anything for his guests. He is extremely knowledgeable about what's happening in Montreal and shares this information readily. The rooms are all comfortable and well appointed. The location (in the Plateau area) is... More

We spent two nights at this B&B in September and it was easily the worst place we've ever stayed. The room had old, dirty tile floors with no rugs, run down furniture, lamps with stained shades and lots of dust, a bathroom that appeared under construction with a bare light bulb, air conditioner with a rag sticking out of the... We are writing to correct some recent adverse reviews, thinking you’ll be happier if you know what to expect. This is not a conventional B&B with antiques and chintz. Idiosyncratic and functional is a better way to describe its appearance. The inspectors rank it as 3 stars. We stayed in the Sunrise loft for 7 nights in mid-September. Climbing up... More

With regard to Redtr4a 1 of Southampton, I honestly don't know what place you stayed at, but it was certainly not Boulanger Bassin. My husband and I went for our fortieth wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. It is clear you have an agenda when you give the location three stars: The plateau is the most central area you can... More
