we stayed for 3 nights at the auberge michel doyon, our first thought its location near the old town Quebec but in fact quite far. about 30-45 minutes. and that too depends on the buses. and the buses are not available every 10 minutes as what they said, I think more than 15 minutes. The cleanliness of the room quite... More

We spent $80/night to stay here. We reviewed their website before going so we knew what we were getting into. This place is exactly as advertised, which makes it a great value for your money. This B&B is not luxurios, but very nice. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Parking was not an issue despite what other reviews say,... More

1. We booked a 2 beds room more than 1 month earlier, and gave me a one bed room at arrival, eventually changed to a 1 double size bed + single size bed room, charged $176/night in steady of $127/night as promised on the web. 2. None made bed, cleaned the room, and changed towels when we stayed there two... More

I have looked among our customers of August and found no customer with a Tim first name or last name. I found no customer who rented a room with one double bed and one single bed that paid $176 per night. I found no customer that was in our hotel for two nights and who claimed that the room had... We stayed for two nights and had a mixed experience with the lodging. Our room wasn't big enough for two people. There was barely room to get around the bed and still function. There was nowhere to place the suitcases nor was there adequate room to stand to change clothes, etc. The bath was clean, modern and the shower worked... More

I was looking for a hotel in Quebec City but, to my suprise, every two-star hotel in downtown Quebec cost 180 plus USD a night without breakfast. As I am used to spare some bucks and don't mind to take a small ride on a bus, i've booked this hotel and indeed it was a nice choice. Just 10 minutes... More

The breakfast is healthy and ample. The rooms are clean and freshly painted. Having a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator is a plus. There was road construction right in front of the Auberge while I was there, but that was the only discomfort. More

Clean rooms, receptionist is not very fluent in English but is very accommodating, near bus stops. You can take 7 or 800 or 801 to go to to main area. Paying for buses is the only grip. Otherwise, positive! More

we got what we paid for with this hotel. no frills but warm and comfortable accommodation. continental breakfast was included in the price and was good (although it wasn't what the europeans would say was continental style). there was plenty to eat and drink and the dining room was spotlessly clean, warm and functional. the bedroom was basic but warm... I would only go there again if I was stuck with no place to go. It's better than sleeping in your car, that's really the best thing I would say. Numerous problems with the room. The moment we got in there my 8 year old nephew said :This place sucks !!" and he was right ... looked like it had... More

VHS Player are by definition, old. Remote are not old, and if they do not work, a call to the front desk would allow us to fix the problem. Bug on bed: what is a fly, a spider, a moskito? Creaky floor? Floor is covered with carpet. Street noise? This does not bother most guests; this is not a boulevard... More

The Michel Doyon is an ok hotel, nothing fancy. The price was pretty good however. Breakfast was a continental spread (choice of cereals, toast, bananas, juice, coffee, tea). If you're looking for a simple place that is reasonably close (short car or bus ride) to Old Quebec, this is ok. One problem, however, is the parking. They advertise 2 rates... More

This person is right and this needs clarification. Someone may park on the street from friday 4 pm until monday 10 am, without any restriction. Weekdays, parking on the street is restricted to one hour, from 9 am until 12 noon, and from 1:30 until 4 pm, weekdays. We changed the text on the reservation confirmation form to indicate that...
