We visited the Kings arms after many people recommending it to us as a great place to eat. After a long walk around Rutland water the warm welcome and local ale was a real treat. The surrounding and decor have a warm charm that make the kings arms inviting and relaxing. We ordered a few dishes from their vast menu... More

We have had outstanding stays in Rutland before but decide to try somewhere new (thanks to the Good Pub Guide/Trip Advisor). The Kings Arms didn't disappoint! Our room (in an adjoining property) was beautiful, quiet, comfortable, clean and only a few steps from the front door of the pub. The latter also lived up to the reviews, a welcoming place... More

We stayed at the Kings Arms last Tuesday and Wednesday. We stayed in the Apple Room, which was very comfortable and a little quirky. We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed wonderful food. The food is nearly all sourced locally, was beautifully presented and excellent quality. As it was mid-week and not busy the restaurant was not used, but... More

We stayed with another couple at this inn and found it to be very clean and comfortable. All the food is locally sourced or actually produced on the premises. Arriving at the car park, our attention was taken by the free range hens in their chicken run and also by the fruit trees and bushes, which are grown around the... More

One weekend a year in this beautiful Rutland spot would do us right....and we definitely plan to return! Why? Well it's not often you find a super pub that prides itself on its local suppliers, offers great value accommodation and takes dogs! We enjoyed a spotlessly clean, very comfortable suite, with dinner and a breakfast to die for. The Kings... More

Overall a very good experience apart from the fact the bedroom/bathroom was cold. We felt that if heating had been put on before we arrived this would have improved our stay (February). The food is excellent and locally sourced - also the staff are so welcoming and obliging. Dining room and bar very cosy with roaring fire. Would not hesitate... More

We went in the middle of a very cold period and found the room and bar/restaurant to be nice and warm and comforting. The food was both local and unusual and well presented and the local real ales a bonus.

Rooms are a bit cold, but you would expect that from a building of this age. Food in the restaurant highly recommended, especially the full breakfast! The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are so friendly!

Love traditional English country pubs? Then this is the place for you - beamed ceilings, open fire, local ales, relaxed ambiance. The quality of the menu(s) really shone through and there was a real local theme throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed my rabbit pie starter (which is the first time I've ever had a pie for a starter!). The wild boar looked... More
