Recently taken over, this charming pub is now branding itself as a kind of middle class, locally sourced, cuddly foraged haven for foodies. The location cannot be faulted and neither can the staff. They've clearly spent a lot of money on sprucing the place up and it's a perfectly pleasant place to drink away an afternoon and tuck into some... More

If anyone has read any of my other reviews you will note that I am fair minded and have stayed i anything from the Burj al Arab to small B+B`s in France etc. We booked a two night stay B+B. at the Grove Ferry Inn. From the "Hype" I expected a comfortable country Inn. We arrived about 5pm on a... More

A number of years ago this pub was extremely 'olde worlde' and full of character (interesting historical artifacts hanging from the ceiling etc) - had many a family gathering here! So, I was very disappointed (initially) when the pub interior had a very modern refurb. It no longer had that warm and inviting feel to it and seemed a bit... More

Working in the area at Quex park and stayed here for 5 nights in early march 2013. Our room, with an en-suite bathroom and balcony, overlooked the tranquil river. Although during our stay it was winter time, the room was warm and comfortable. We had a huge bed with really good quality sheets and generous fluffy towels. The downstairs part... More

We warmly welcomed by staff and shown to our room, we had a front bedroom overlooking the marsh and a pair of characters that made us laugh (this will be the goats). The room was spacious clean and very comfortable. We spent time in the bar and found the staff friendly along with the locals who were full of local... More

My husband and I enjoyed our visit to this hotel and will recommend it to friends and family. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the resturant which is not overpriced as some other reviews would suggest. Locals were friendly and Aron the manager sat with us to chat for a while after his shift finished. Nothing is to much trouble... More

The team at The Grove Inn foster a warm and friendly atmosphere resulting in a very relaxing break. Perfect for local walks and fishing, local produce is a feature. The menu is tasty and interesting, and if you want some culture, Canterbury is a short drive away. And goats in the pen in the garden are very well behaved!

We booked the Grove Pantry for our wedding anniversary. On arrival the place looks great, goats in the garden, right on the river, a smoke house, big sofas and warm fires. We were surprised to be asked to pay for the rooms upfront but did so. We were shown to our room which was okay, it had balcony doors and... More

My wife and I stayed the night at the Grove Ferry Inn,we arrived at 3-00pm and were very warmly greeted by the owner Aron. We had coffee and chatted about the locally sourced and foraged food and the beautiful river and scenery surrounding the hotel. The room was beautiful with a 4 poster and balcony overlooking the River Stow. The... More
