A rare find these days genuinely original and delicious food at a fair price for the quality. We lighted on this auberge well situated half way home from the south of France and were delighted with the service and quality of food. Unfortunately we had booked accommodation elsewhere but would definitely return on another trip.

We stayed here for one night in August with our two granchildren aged 10 and 7. Rooms clean and adequate and hotel is situated in a picturesque village. We chose this hotel as it was roughly half way to our final destination in the south of France. The Tete de Lard is on the main road through the small town in what is, in effect, the town centre. It looks welcoming from the outside, which reflects what the guest will find inside. Rooms and decor were old fashioned but comfortable. Dinner was excellent and service good, but the food/wine was expensive. A pleasant town. A good stopping off point on the way north to Paris/Calais from the South.

Good, old fashioned Logis de France. Very pleasant staff. Rooms fine, with wall papered ceilings. Our only grump is that the dinner was expensive - 40 euros for 2-3 OK, but not wonderful, courses, with house wine at 9 euros a pichet, whereas we had been paying 3-4 euros further south for good house wine.
