We had a lovely romantic stay in this very stylish Hotel . Lovely little touches in the room and breakfast was really special. The Staff were very attentive. The whole place was relaxed but gave you the feeling of quiet luxury. Would have no hesitation in staying there again.

We stopped here en-route to Ambleside and were impressed by the quality of the food - to the extent that we went out of our way to return during our week long stay in the area. Thoroughly recommended..

We have stayed at the Wild Boar for a number of years now, even before the refurbishment, it is the most relaxing place I know, the staff are very friendly, it always feels like we are coming home. The rooms and the food is to die for, I would recommend this hotel to everyone, and have done so for years.

Visited 5th may for dinner made reservation same day but could only get 9pm sitting which shows how popular it is. very pleasantly surprised by the Wild Boar Inn. A lot of character in the building, warm welcome from the staff, lovely food. The attached forest offers nice walks. The smoked salmon (from their smoke house) was really good, as well as the lamb. I kept looking at the dishes passing by as wanted to try them all.
