A celebration of 55 years of marriage for our parents. We could not have wished for a better way to celebrate their Emerald wedding anniversary. We had booked for Afternoon Tea at Gravetye. Having not been before we did not know what to expect, we were not disappointed! The service was exceptional, the tea was delightful, we were sat outside in... More

I am so pleased you chose Gravetye for this special anniversary of your parents. Sounds like all the family were captivated by our beautiful gardens. This time of year it is quite magical and it was great that the weather was kind enough for you to enjoy tea in the garden. Hope to see you back with us soon. Kind... More

Stayed for one night with close family to celebrate my birthday. It really couldn't have been more perfect. Great food, great service, stunning house and gardens, playing croquet in the sun, breakfast in the garden... Absolutely super! Lovely walk to the nearby village. A special occasion that was really very special.

Picture this: Secreted away behind imposing gates deep in the heart of the English country side that once was. An extraordinary beautiful ancient English manor house, sensitively restored and converted into a beautiful country house hotel. No expense spared on attention to detail. And surrounded by the most ancient of gardens and woodland. An absolute treasure. Refined, and romantic, sophisticated.... More

I am so pleased you have discovered our ‘little gem’ Many couples and families have enjoyed Gravetye since it first became a hotel in 1958, and we have tried to retain and capture the true feel of a traditional English Manor House. With a mile long drive and well away from Gatwick airspace the bird song is very special. Thank... More

Just driving up the long entrance road/drive was a joy, lush with bluebells, trees and rhododendrums. The staff were very helpful, the lovely porter drove mama's wheelchair with gusto up the steepish slope round to the back garden. We sat and had drinks outside, a paradise after the joys of a busy M25 on a Bank Holiday. Two of our... More

I am please you enjoyed your bank holiday Monday lunch at Gravetye Manor. The rhododendrons though late this year have been particularly lovely. We are getting some great produce from our walled kitchen garden which will continue to frame our daily menus throughout the summer. Kind regards, Andrew Thomason Managing Director More

My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights at Gravetye and still are singing its praises. We have been visiting the Manor every couple of years since 1976 and have seen it through 3 owners and several staff changes. While it was always lovely and peaceful, it wasn't always perfection. Now it is. Our favorite room, Chestnut, has completed its... More

A girlfriend and I went for the garden lunch menu. I had a delicious brochette and she had an open sandwich. We had a glass of wine each then discussed sharing another one as we were both driving. Two fresh glasses arrived with the wine divided exactly in half. Considering we were not great customers, ie not spending bundles that... More

We booked a special offer of dinner, bed and breakfast. On arrival, were greeted as we got out of the car, at reception, found that we had been upgraded to a fantastic room (Holly). We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter to celebrate a special Birthday. What a really lovely hotel this is, with quiet spacious rooms situated within a hotel in beautiful grounds. We have stayed at Gravetye quite a few times in the past but not recently. According to reports. ownership changes (including a brief period in Administration) had set back the hotel. I am pleased you chose to come back to see how Gravetye was fairing post administration. When people hear that a property was in administration and then undergone a refurbishment they think the worst! Gravetye however looks the same as before, totally unspoilt but brighter and fresher with new fabrics, carpets, bathrooms and yes WiFi. Everyone returning has been thrilled... More
