I had two great lunches here on my way to and fro from Dili to Jaco. Great place, like stepping back in time to colonial era travel. Food was basic but really nice, traditional. Great place, would definitely stay next time!

The Pousada Baucau is the only place you'll want to stay outside of Dili. It is a serene and peaceful oasis amid the dusty hurly burly of rural Timor. Its a gorgeous, though sadly decaying, vestige of Timor's colonial past with its baroque design and graceful arches. I felt like a visiting conquistador.
The room was quiet, immaculately clean and...

Stayed here a night on the way back to Dili from Jaco / Com. It was a comfortable room with good bed, ensuite, a/c. Breakfast was good and included. Pool is closed one day a week for cleaning (the day which we arrived), but was open and full of water in the morning so we enjoyed it to ourselves for...

My room was clean and comfortable. I did not take my family (3 kids under 5) on this trip because I was concerned about the quality of the hotel. It would have been fine. The restaurant was expensive, but pretty good. The free breakfast was nice, but a bit small for a big eater. I arranged a pick up in...

The director, Abilio, told me: you, as a foreigner, cannot come here and complain”. How shameless of a business that exists thanks to foreigners’ money to keep an employee like that. I hope the owner reads this and fires him.
I complained after the restaurant staff failed to deliver part of my order and the other part was done not...

I travelled by bus from Dili which was an experience in itself, the views on the way are fantastic.. Hotel rooms were clean and airconditioned. The dining room was cool and open although the menu wasn't in English and when clarification was sought, the staff were unable to help.
The reception staff were not helpful and difficult to locate. On...

The hotel staff are ok by Timor standards and the hotel is nice, with several good relaxing rooms, a nice terrace (with a very understocked bar) and pleasant rooms (nice beds, fridge, balconies with distant water views). The bathrooms are pink and my toilet didn't flush, the shower was missing a panel and the hot water was difficult to work...

After driving for hours along pot holed roads from Dili right alongside the ocean it's a wonderful sight to see the pink Pousada de Baucau high on the hill. The main building is just gorgeous with large rooms for reading, writing your travel diary or surfing the web. The rooms in this building are clean, bright and cool. The staff...

Pousada de Baucau is an imposing pink building in a beautiful town worth visiting. The original building is spacious and graceful, and provides a wonderful glimpse of life under the Portugese. The 10 rooms are in a modern attached building, and are clean, functional and comfortable. The in house restaurant offers pleasant and efficient service in an airy large room,...

On my arrival into Baucau, I was booked in to stay at the Pousada de Baucau (first night in Timor Leste). Unfortunately due to some miscommunication, my booking was cancelled (no fault of the hotel). The hotel was also fully booked and I had to make arrangements to stay somewhere else. Luckily, I was able to re-arrange my schedule and...
