We had a vacation at Cedar lodge a few years ago & had a great time. We have just had a seven night stay in the Dragon Fly chalet and unfortunately we were very disappointed, the chalet is very “tired” & gloomy due to being very dark and also dreary decor and furniture. The whole chalet needs updating & brightening up. The Wi-Fi was almost non existent during our stay which was very frustrating as we were unable to keep in touch with family or make bookings & research things to do in the area, the staff tried to help with the Wi-Fi signal & even suggested we log into a neighbouring chalets WiFi but this was not successful, we would go & stand near the office to obtain a signal. We would not return unless the chalets are refurbished.

This is a very special place. It is one of the most tranquil places I have ever stayed. The cabin was beautiful. Well appointed and cosy. We really enjoyed the bbq on our own private deck and the hot tub was amazing. It came at the perfect time in our trip to Canada. We just needed a bit of relaxation and calm in our busy trip and this accommodation was perfect. There is plenty to do in the area if you can force yourself away from the beautiful surroundings. Don’t hesitate, book it.

Wow, this place is amazing! We rented the Green Lodge and the Mountain View Chalet for our mother's 90th birthday celebration. The chalets are stunning and the views are spectacular. The firepit and hot tubs were a huge hit as were the scenic trails. Young and old delighted in these spacious Chalets. Bedrooms are placed apart so snorers can't disturb, haha. Units are soundproof. Bathrooms/showers are great and the kitchens are beautiful. We could have used a few more glasses, cutlery and plates so they needn't be washed twice a day, but that was a minor inconvenience. Everyone in our group of 18 (4 generations) absolutely loved it! No kids complaining about being bored. Plenty for everyone to do. We also did family photos at the lookout on the trail. Views are incredible! What an amazing weekend we had! I can't wait to go back. I hope the restaurant reopens soon!…

We stayed at the Cedar house, cedar cabin, for 2 nights. We have never met the host and we are sure they are doing their best to maintain the place at its best, but we would like to share our experience. This cabin is situated just across the restaurant, so in non-covid times when the restaurant is open, there is gonna be a lot of fun to be in this cabin and also relax. We are staying in cabins and hotels in different places worldwide, from very basic to more upscaled places and we mostly care about cleanliness. The cabin was indeed clean and spacious, it has a separate bedroom and a living room area with a kitchen and a porch with a hot tub and a grill apparatus (we do not use these). The place has lots of labels everywhere dictating you every step of your stay: turn off the lights, take your trash out, use these towels, close these doors, don’t use that, use this etc. Also, one of the notes stated that property managers will come at unspecified time to check on your hot tub. It feels as the sole purpose of the guests is to destroy this place completely or if we are coming from a different planet, so we need some instructions how to operate. It creates an uncomfortable feeling that makes you aware of every single movement that you perform in that house. The rooms are outdated and need a touch to refresh the place. There is also a smell of old cooking oil, probably because the previous guests were not reading carefully the instructions and did not open all the windows in the house while turning off the air-conditioning standing on one leg and clapping 3 times. There is a TV that has only one channel (marketing or tv shopping). The towels are old and unpleasant to touch. In general, we do not think we will come again, although this place has a lot of potential. It could be that it is us and not the place. But we have never saw any mentioning of these facts, it was important to share, so the reader can make a decision regarding this place.…

This was our second stay here and it did not disappoint. This time we stayed in the garden chalet. We love the peace and quiet here. The grounds and view are beautiful. The beds and couch are comfortable. The chalet was spacious and had everything we needed to celebrate an anniversary. We used the wood burning fireplace and hot tub. We brought some food to cook ourselves and also dined out in Golden. We would stay here again. Our only suggestions are to equip the chalet with basic spices and/or oil (if COVID rules allow) and to have more jets working in the hot tub. Also, we forgot to bring games such as cribbage and no games were in the chalet. The restaurant was not open.

If you are seeking a place to stay with spectacular mountain views and a little peace and quiet, the Cedar House Restaurant & Chalets is your place. We stayed in the Sunflower Chalet which is a very clean cablin with 2 bedrooms, large kitchen and living room with a great wood burning stove. We stayed during a major heatwave the hot tub turned into a welcomed cool pool. The air conditioning in the cablin was also very welcomed. The in cabin laundry would be perfect for longer stays. A great return visit.

Our three-night stay in the Adventure Cabin at the Cedar House Chalets was the perfect getaway for relaxation and exploration. Despite the frigid temperatures, the cabin was cozy and warm thanks to the wood stove. We had everything we needed to prepare our meals, and used the barbecue on the deck to grill steaks for dinner. The space was well laid out, the loft bed comfortable, with lots of room to spread out and relax. The hot tub struggled to hold its heat in the -25° temperatures, but it was still a treat to watch the stars from the tub on the private deck. The chalets are central to many adventures in Yoho Park, Banff, as well as Radium. Our stay was perfect in every way, and even our late night arrival was handled flawlessly. We can’t wait for our next visit!

We spent 3 nights at the Cedar House Restaurant & Chalets to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We stayed in the Adventure Chalet which offered great views from the hot tub and deck as well as the rustic charm inside the cabin. The cabin came with all you need to enjoy your time in the mountains. Highly recommend this place for a few days away.
