The people were definitely friendly, but the property was very rundown and definitely designed for a quick sleep. If you’re going on a skiing, mountaineering, or adventuring trip. All the fittings didn’t fit, the roof had water, stains and leaks everywhere, the air-conditioning was loud and badly sealed, and the entire room smelled like cigarette smoke – and that was a non-smoking room But if you plan on just sleeping quickly, this is definitely a good place to go for an economic – cheap – stay!

My children woke up with bug bites, that resemble bed bugs, beds were also hard as a rock, bathroom ceiling had black mold that looks like they just keep painting over, they told us that the wifi password was in a binder in the room which was a lie they also told our neighbors same thing and they didnt know it either, just a gross place all around. Not worth $200

We just left the Ponderosa inn this morning. Oii… we will never go back, even though it was only for one night, as a stopover going from Kimberley to Kelowna. The room was not even “meh”, for a motel, there were ceiling water stains, the bathroom window had dust and dirt from not being wiped in ages, curtains ripped, stuff between mattress and box spring, and walking into the room there was some chemical aroma, probably to mask the foul doors otherwise (bug spray?). The worst part was the lady at the front desk. She was very stand off-ish, not a single smile, and just not a social situation type of individual, at all. Seems I had somehow double booked the room (not my attention and an apology from me was ignored). She rolled her eyes when I came with a plastic cup for ice, and huffed at me in the morning when I came to check out, telling me yet again the keys go outside, in a box. I mentioned that yes I knew that, but I came inside to ask her for an invoice instead, she said I had to wait… (albeit she was in the phone, but I told her I that was fine). Little issues, nothing huge, but for close to $200 for a motel room a night, that was dingy and on the verge of grossness ;okay it was gross), her attitude didn’t make us feel welcome… only a cash grab! The older gentleman was kind and sweet; very helpful… I should have written about him first! Rating 1/5… only because there was hot water, and the older gentleman saved it from zero stars!

Only stayed here because there was no other option. It was not clean. The face covers on the floor heaters were missing and exposed wires. The floor sloped really bad. The room smelled very bad. I didn’t take off my shoes as the carpet was soiled. There was mold in the bathroom. Everything is original decades old. Nothing is maintained. Even the soap was weird, like chalk. I haven’t experienced such a bad room in 20 years and I’m surprised the Health Board hasn’t shut them down. I would avoid this place if at all possible. We were desperate as the whole town was booked solid.

Learned my lesson that you better book a room in advance before going to Golden. The floor is crooked in the room, seems like your leaning all the time. We paid over 150 a night. No light breakfast available and the hot tub was out of service. Nowhere to hang your towels in the bathroom. Beds were terrible. I’d be ok with it I guess if I hadn’t paid so much for it.

This Inn really needs to updated. At very least they need to get new beds. If you need a place to stay it works. Not the greatest rest I’ve ever had but not the worst. Same price CR as the rest of the hotels in the area so if you can look around first! On the plus side the staff is amazingly friendly!

I stopped in for the night on my way to Calgary- This unassuming motel is a gem- off the TransCanada highway so easy access- rooms clean, comfortable and quiet- price point very good- after tax: $78 for the night… They had a kettle and real drinking glasses and mugs in the room plus a larger mini fridge staff helpful and friendly Would stay here again

Before I came here, but after I had booked, I read negative reviews about how dirty it was in the room. So I was prepared with my own cleaning products. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to need none of my cleaners. It was as clean as I could hope for. The Covid protocols were in full force and I needed a mask and to sanitize before I could come in to register. There is a mini fridge and a 2-cup coffee maker in the room plus a small table with two chairs. I am fussy and always keep my shoes on but not due to any issue with the carpet. I would definitely stay here again.

Quite unclean. Hairs and crumbs everywhere and the carpet looked and felt like it hadn't been cleaned in a few years. Sink was so dirty I didn't want to use the water, and the bathroom was so gross I didn't shower. The room also smelled very strongly of a perfume cleaner and cigarette smoke, which made it really hard to sleep if your sensitive to smell. The fridge was also dirty and had a foul smell. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets felt kind of damp. Definitely never going back.

Sheets were unwashed on both beds. Lots of hairs and orange Cheeto crumbs. Gross. Bed and towels smell like urine. I slept in my full clothing. Even the tap water was somewhat foul. Not coming back here.
