I went to Castlegar on Business. Weather was very bad and got stuck for 2 extra days. I was pleased that I got stuck with such a great team and hotel. They made my frustrating stay great. Try another motel in town, or continue driving past this place. We were just passing thru and there was a swim meet in Trail, so several other places we tried were filled up. Sorry, but this place needs some serious help - the rooms, hallways, etc. are dark and dingy. There was a deteriorating air conditioner stuck in the wall in our room, the windows couldn't be left open because there was no screens on them. So you had a choice, use the air conditioner or sleep with the bugs. Well I guess... more

The hotel was built in the early 70’s and it’s improvements over the years have been modest. Many rooms have newish carpet. Some have newer air conditioners (while others have old clunkers and window fans). I’ve stayed here several times, as there isn’t a lot of choice in Castlegar.
