We planned a road trip north to Thunder Bay to visit family. Knowing we were passing though Wawa I reserved with the Best Northern months in advance, but it was not busy in early May. We stayed a second time when we passed by again, a few days later. The main reason for choosing this property was the favorable reviews... More

I would like to thank Teresa and Mark for their incredible hospitality. I arrived late after a long day of driving and even though the restaurant was closing Teresa made me supper to go. The food was incredible. The rooms were very clean and had all the amenities you would expect from a major hotel. The Internet connection was excellent... More

This quaint little motel is right next to the highway but almost hidden from the view on the road and have I not paid attention, in my night travel I might have missed it. Very nice gentleman greeted me and made me feel welcomed despite the late time of my arrival of my unplanned stay. I was so hungry and... More

We completed a Lake Superior Circle Tour by car and stayed at this lovely motel one night. The room was very comfortable, clean, and a little better than the typical roadside motels we found on our trip. We were warmly greeted by the couple that owns the motel, and enjoyed the best meal we had on the entire 9 day... More

It is a road side motel with the typical outside entrance to the rooms. Rooms are smallish just like most road side motels and you will get road noise. The walls seemed very thin. Both my wife and I thought the rooms were very clean and well kept. We stayed in Room #7. The time of year was late October... More

We've been travelling across Canada and following Lonely Planet and other guide books. They recommended two other awful, and expensive places that it;s not worth to mention them. We're surprised that this Best Wawa more than a Motel is not listed. It is a real hidden gem in the middle nowhere. Food is excellent. Cabagge rolls and Perogies are quite delighful.... More

The original motel is circa 1960 - small rooms, very small but upgraded bathrooms. However, the food is likely the best you will experience anywhere on the North Shore and rivals the best restaurants in any Canadizn city. The Polish specialties are worth a try - they are all marvelous!

This is a wonderful family run hotel. The room was sweet and comfortable. What sets this motel apart is the incredible Polish cuisine served in their intimate and friendly restaurant. We were treated to truly wonderful fare, authentic and elegant. We absolutely loved our stay this past June, and will return!

Run by congenial Polish-Canadian hosts, this motel has everything to offer the weary traveller. Many of the guests are travellers on the long and winding road that leads east to Nova Scotia or west to British Columbia; others are here for a visit to the parks and unspoiled shores of northern Lake Superior. In either case, one looks for a... More
