As full-time professional horse people we travelled from Australia to do the 2 day backcountry trip from Kananaskis with Brewsters. Our guide Ron was fantastic, the horses well cared for and effective and the scenery was to die for. The horses were always first to be given water at all possible stops and their welfare was always considered as a... More

Our group went to enjoy a day of gold & a night in a chalet. We were met by the rudest, god awful owner! She yelled at us for taking too long to hit a ball on the first hole! No one else was around but us, so we weren't holding anyone up. Besides its golf, whats the rush? She... More

We had a golf tournament at Brewster's Kananaskis Golf Course in August 2010. We arranged this months in advance for a large group of 25+ people. When we finished our round of golf and got ready to give out the prizes in their lounge we were literally kicked out of the room. The owner approached us, fuming mad, claiming we... More

I recently booked a golf outing at the Kananaskis guest ranch. Unlike the previous post, the golf was a fabulous experience. The course is in a beautiful location, is extremely challenging, and was in great shape. The speed of play was fine -- we never had to wait -- but it wasn't rushed either. Unfortunately, I had booked to stay... More

Don't bother bringing your clubs. We golfed with a group of 6 ahead of us. The marshall came around twice in the first hole and at the third hole when we asked what was going on he told us that it was a mini tournament and he would ask them to have us play through. They didn't and we didn't... More

My friend and I went on a 4 day pack ride. It was just the two of us (girls) with our guide 'Stu'. We had the experience of a lifetime. Our camp had been trashed by a black bear when we arrived on night one. The bear came back to visit again and again throughout the evening, night and next... More

After profuse apologies from the manager that the owner would not be able to accompany us on our trip due to another business venture, we were sent with a guide who had been on the mountain once before, in reverse. Miraculously, we did arrive at our destinations each of the two nights we spent on the adventure, but got lost... More

In July of 2004, we headed out on a 4 day holiday on horseback called Brewster Mountain Pack Trains. We left from Brewster's Kananaskis Guest Ranch to spend 3 nights in 2 different remote cabins. The horseback riding is not for the unfit or the faint of heart! The first and last days are long rides (6-7 hours in the... More
