We stopped here for one night on our way from Banff to Vancouver. The owner was lovely he was super friendly and even recommended another restaurant for dinner (which was the single best smokehouse we’ve ever eaten at). The rooms were spacious, clean & comfortable. The wifi was at best weak and mostly non existent but we were happy to be a bit off the grid to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. All in all a lovely stay

Lodge is as described, out of Clearwater, close to the falls. Our room did have a fridge which was handy and we had a limited WiFi service, enough to check WhatsApps and email. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant, allowed us to adapt their menu slightly. It was our anniversary and staff made this night special for us

We stayed here for three nights on our Canadian tour, after asking our travel agent where to go to see some bears. It is situated in Wells Gray Park and about 35km from the nearest town, and is extremely peaceful and like others we had three nights excellent sleep here, in a bed that had cosy patchwork covers on it. The room had heating which we used as it was September for late evenings. It was in a log cabin which was split into four rooms, and we had a small deck with a bench where we ate on quite a lot enjoying the views and the wildlife. What lets this place down is the lack of a place to eat something nice. They could make a small fortune if they improved the offering as there isnt anywhere else to go. Breakfast was laid out, but all the food was dry and the staff unhelpful even asking to get basics like tea bags and hot water. Dinner was pretty poor too so we ended up driving to clearwater on the other other days to get supplies. There are a small number of RV pitches at the site too, but they were very quiet and pleasant. There are lots of trails in the park so you can easily occupy yourself for three days, and we did get to see bears in the distance. Overall a traditional log cabin experience but bring your own food; our room had a fridge.

Lovely place was worried due to the reviews as had to move hotels due to the fires last minute. It was lovely, yes rustic but if you love nature it’s great. Good for water falls and walks as right in the middle of Wells Grey National park. The staff were friendly and so helpful we arrived really late 9.30’ish pm and the restaurant had stopped serving but still cooked for us. The breakfast is basic continental but enough for all cereals, juice, toast and pastries just help yourself. There is a fridge and coffee machine in the room which was clean and tidy.

Beautiful setting. It was a shame that the mosquitoes didn't allow us to sit out to make the best of it, but that's nature for you. We were only here for one night. It was lovely to be off the beaten track. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Staff were excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Horrendous experience, a throwback to the 1940's and felt unmodernised. Expected to hear the Duelling Banjos. Breakfast was awful with most time spent killing mozzies. Sleep was fine, we spent one night of two booked, that's how bad this place is. Staff uninterested. Stay In Clearwater and drive to Helmcken falls which is defo worth a visit. @trailfinders poor for even recommending this place.

We just had one night at the lodge, as a mid way stop on a road trip. The lodge has some negative reviews which I don’t understand. Yes it’s rustic but that’s what lodges in National/State parks tend to be. It’s what you make it and the people. We had a log room, which was one of four in a double storey triangle chalet. The room was huge with two double beds, rustic but comfy and a good nights sleep. The room also had a balcony to sit out for a drink. We ate dinner at the lodge, mostly burgers or Buddha bowls. Between us we had the chicken burger and a Buddha bowl, and shared crumble for dessert all really good. The staff at the lodge were all really friendly, and efficient. We don’t have breakfast here, but believe they only offer a continental option currently.

A place I would avoid by all means in the future, the so-called old fashioned lodge was the worst experience during our trip through Canada’s BC. Owners seems not want to invest in the minimal necessities for travellers such as a refrigerator, airco or internet despite the huge billboard advertising the internet. Rooms are definitely not suitable for a family stay of 4 as the 2 beds are placed against the walls. The housekeeping office/store located in the middle of the rooms, with their busy traffic and mess in the front did not help to create a comfortable stay. The millions of mosquitoes are free of charge. The positive note is the restaurant with kind people and good food.

Room full of mosquitos & walls covered in marks from where previous guests have swatted the Tired bedding. Couldn’t stay there so left & found somewhere else in town. They did refund our money for which we are grateful for. Needs some TLC as it could be so much better.

Had a one night stop over on a road trip from Jasper to Whistler. Hotel was booked via an agent so we didn’t have a huge input but we didn’t enjoy our stay. The rooms are tired and the site in need of an update. We were also plagued by mosquitoes and suffered so many bites we lost count. In fairness, staff are lovely and the restaurant serves nice food - it just wasn’t really a highlight of our trip.
