We had a great time on Bowen Island! The Lodge at the Old Dorm Bed and Breakfast was a lovely place to stay. The room was very comfortable and we had the best nights sleep without the city traffic noise we are normally used to. The property itself is very picturesque and the breakfast was amazing!! Dan is a very... More

I had a wonderful stay at the Lodge at the Old Dorm. From the moment I called in, to the farewell at the door, everything was handled so nicely. I made a last-minute reservation and spoke to Dan, who was incredibly accommodating, nice and helpful. On the phone, he took the time to give me directions and ideas of what... More

My boyfriend and I spent the night at the Lodge at The Old Dorm and had an amazing time. The bed was oh-so-comfortable, the location was perfect (beautiful 10 minute walk from the ferry, shops and restaurants) and the hosts were terrific. Everyone we met on Bowen told us that "Dan makes the best breakfast on the island", and we... More

We spent two nights with Dan in early January and were very well looked after. He is a great host and more than happy to help you pln your stay on the island. The beds were very comfortable and it was great to have the use of a small sitting room upstairs as well where we could make tea etc.... More

My office staff spent the weekend here and we took over the entire house. Not only did it feel like home, the meals were outstanding from breakfast to dinner! Dan is an incredible host. The ferry is within walking distance making this very convenient as a ferry walk on.

First visit to Bowen Island and my first stay at the The Old Dorm. The smile and fond memories express my joy far better than these words. I was fortunate to have the entire lodge to myself. I was the only guest and Daniel was away on a trip. Absolutely brilliant stay. I adopted the lodge as my own and... More

My partner I have have stayed at the Lodge at The Old Dorm three times now - once alone, once with his parents and once with my parents. We love it! It's a cozy place and the rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The host is very friendly - always giving great tips for hikes, places to eat and... More

As its name suggests, this charming accommodation was the staff dormitory for the grand old hotel of the Union Steamship Company, the Mt. Strahan Hotel famous from 1921 - 1950. (it is no longer in existence) Enormous renovations have changed the staff dormitory into a deluxe boutique b and b hotel. All the rooms are named after the Union steamships,... More

Fantastic stay on a lovely island, definitely worth the side trip from Vancouver. The ferry ride only took 20 minutes from a cute town called Horseshoe Bay. Dan, the owner at "The Lodge at the Old Dorm"(B&B) was welcoming, the house was beautiful, but my favorite thing about staying at this B&B was our gourmet breakfast, yummy!

Love this B&B. Rooms were clean, tidy and very comfortable. Close to the ferry terminal and shopping. Very interesting to read the history. Breakfast was delicious, hot and cold, homemade granola, fresh fruit, amazing eggs, and on and on. Hope to return someday.
