Possibly an average inn or motel in most other cities I found the Glen Lyon to be reasonable. With much construction on the new windfarm being constructed in Holberg, rooms are tough to come by right now in Port Hardy. Strange though, was never the case in the last 15 years. The Inn itself is located right on the water... More

This is definitely an older motel - don't expect pillow top mattresses or flat screen TVs - but for a small town when accommodation options can be few the Glen Lyon is fine. You can hear your neighbours through the walls but the staff was very good and helpful. There is a restaurant on site and they have a good... More

My husband and I drove up to Port Hardy to look at investment properties and didn't pre-book a hotel before we arrived. We have stayed up in the area at a variety of hotels/cottages in the past. This time we discovered that our usual places were already previously booked and, with it being low season, we really didn't feel we... More

I stayed in this inn with my friend for 2 nights and at the very first night I found scary ants roaming on a floor, in the corner of the bathroom and some were crawling on a bed. It was impossible for me to compromise on these things. We did call to housekeeping of the inn and they replied what’s... More

My new favourite place to stay while doing business on the north island. The customer service is excellent, charming staff and very clean. Walking distance to two pubs with great food, charming little cafe for a great breakfast!

Apparently the best place to stay in Prince Rupert and I think that's probably right although the Quarter deck inn next door didn't look too bad but not as good view and no balconies. We stayed here for 3 nights after getting the bus from Victoria and before we got the ferry to Prince Rupert. Our room overlooked the estuary and... More

Although some things were alittle dated, the room was sparking clean, quiet, and all balconies overlook the water, lovely view. Staff were friendly, helpful. Dining room, food was average, good service, again a lovely view. Got the rate of 119.00

Not much to choose from in Port Hardy - this is about the best. Quoted $145.00 for one night - but got it for $130.00 as that is what the tourist information bureau had told us. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, with a microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom was clean and... More

Arrived for a Monday night stay along with most of the passengers disembarking from the Bella Coola ferry at 8:30 p.m.. While the hotel was convenient and easy to find, the place seemed tired and in need of a facelift. The room was as basic as they come, the bedcovers made of some fabric from the 1970's, but the view... More
