Room was great ,en-suite was even better with great food and service, just like being at home, all you need after a long day at work.a great atmosphere all round.Would recommended for short breaks or long stays as staff were very helpful.

Having eaten here a couple of time on previous visits to Bristol we chose to book an overnight stay this week when work took us both back to the area. The room we had was newly redecorated, fantastic shower in the bathroom! Bed was very comfortable and room was cosy. The only down side was the stairs to the top... More

Hi S T, Thank you so much for reviewing us and what a great review it was. The hotel rooms as you point out are incredible. I think most are pleasantly surprised when showed to their room. Head chef Will takes great pride in his kitchen & freshly prepared food, and out front our staff are encouraged to be the... More

As a family, we ate a Sunday lunch in The Wellington about 18 months ago, and really enjoyed it. However, this wasnt the case this last weekend. Whilst the service was pleasant it was very slow. The food definitely wasnt as good as it had been the time before, and we also felt it was quite expensive, and not very... More

If 'gastro' in the name is an excuse to hike up the prices then here is a fine example. Location, service and atmosphere are great but £4.30 for a pint of premium lager and £8.95 for a macaroni cheese is pretty steep. Tasted good but doesn't make me want to rush back!

Hi Alister C, 4 stars is great but you were clearly unhappy about our offering. I am sorry. I don't know about the term 'gastro' to describe us and I don't think we use it anywhere in our marketing however we do aim to be top of the pub/restaurant/hotel market with well kept ale, freshly prepared food and impeccable hotel... Wonderful welcome. excellent re-furbished room (comfy beds, super bath & shower room ensuite). Friendly helpful staff. Superb delicious food (congratulations Chef). Great to see James again, last seen at the Salamander in Bath, therefore bound to be good.

We stayed in this B&B on an overnight stay in Bristol. The staff here were very helpful and friendly. The rooms have recently been refurbished beautifully and tastefully decorated with no expense spared. The accommodation was spotless and at excellent value at 79 pounds for a twin room on a Saturday night! Would definitely stay here again - great to... More

My father and I ate at the Wellington last night. The staff were friendly and greeted us on arrival even though they were serving someone else, this felt welcoming. We ordered drinks and food. The bread and olives with dipping oil was a yummy starter, the dipping oil and balsamic vinegar has to be the best I have ever eaten.... More
