One night stay with wife on holiday. The views from the hotel are fantastic; the rooms nice but hotel is showing its age. Excellent restaurant. One suggestion - need to provide free Wi-Fi access not just in the hotel lobby (200 sq. ft. with 3 chairs and no tables) but to the sitting room to the side and perhaps quest... More

This hotel doesn't live up to the glossy photos on its website, but it's OK. It has a great location overlooking the coast and close to the funicular down to Lynmouth. It's an easy walk to the town, which has lots of restaurants and cute shops. The hotel itself is worn, worn, worn. Carpets, drapes and linens all looked old.... More

The location is stunning, high up and overlooking the sea and hills and down into Lynmouth. We have visited this lovely place a number of times and have found this hotel to be the perfect spot to enjoy the area. Over the years we have stayed in a selection of bedrooms and every one has been comfortable with a special... More

From the moment we arrived (there were 2 couples in our party) we felt totally relaxed in the beautiful surroundings. We had room No. 2 - you can admire the view from 3 separate windows! The location of this hotel is spot on for walkers and also for those who just want to chill. We ate twice in the restaurant... More

This is a lovely, old hotel with stunning views, excellent hospitality and wonderful food. We booked the Bay View room,( well worth the additional cost!) which gave the most wonderful views of the bay and despite the sometimes inclement weather, we took great pleasure sitting in this very comfortable room and watching the changing weather patterns. The standards of housekeeping... More

It has been at least 30 years since we stayed at the Cottage Hotel and the experience back then was none too memorable. When re-visiting a hotel after such a long period, one tends to be apprehensive about the quality of the establishment. The position could not be better with views of Exmoor reaching down to the sea. On arrival,... More

This was a total relaxation break, nothing planned. I spent a lot of my time just sitting on the terrace reading and soaking up the most incredible views, there is no need to go abroad when we have such wonders in our own country. The hotel is great, it is in a superb position on the top of the cliffs... More

I needed a break from the usual work load and bolted down to Lynton Cottage for a relaxing break. The welcome and staff are friendly and warm and bring helped me relax immediately . The room I had was clean, warm and comfortable. The view of the North Devon coast from my window was just superb. The breakfast and the... More

This hotel fails on only one front, poor advertising. We stayed in the Bay Room that has fantastic sea views. The 2 rosette restaurant once again met our expectations. Gourmet flavours and presentation, but we were the only ones there on a Thursday evening. Shame on you, book now ! More

We arrived on a fairly damp day but the welcome was warm and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble and our stay was over all too soon. We were in incredulous with the standard of the food, so much so that I asked if I could take the chef home with me because the meals were prepared so tastefully and... More
