In my opinion, the George IV strikes a lovely balance between a Hotel and a guest house. My boyfriend and I chose Brighton/George IV as our base for a renunion weekend with friends coming from Europe. After a warm welcome, the owners seemed quite inobtrusive but were only a call away if needed. Rooms very clean, nice bed linen, good... More

Excellent! I took my wife to Brightoin for the weekend as an early Christmas present. The Huest House was as perfect as could be expected. Big clean and warm room, excellent friendly service, Great location and the view from our room over the old West Pier was lovely to wake up to. Would highly recommend this place, and breakfast. We... You have to accept that staying anywhere in Brighton is very expensive and parking is a total nightmare. That said the George IV is in very good location, a short walk into the town centre, and the accommodation is of a high standard. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast is an additional cost and served in your room. The... More

Myself and my partner took my mum to Brighton for the weekend. Its the first time we have stayed over so when I used Trip advisor and the interent to see what was more suitable. The whole place was extrememly clean and we recieved a warm welcome. The bed was so comfy and my mum did comment she wanted to... More

Had a very enjoyable long weekend using George IV as a base. Good that breakfast is an option - although we didn't partake, menu looked to have a good choice of cold options. Nice complimentary basket in the room - proper milk from the fridge downstairs too rather than having to fiddle with little longlife pot things! Owners friendly but... More

We spent a very enjoyable weekend in Brighton at the George. Steve was really friendly and helpful when we arrived, and the room was bright and clean. The quality of the room and the service (great breakfast brought up to our room on the Sunday!) exceeded our expectations, and represented great value for money, we felt. We would definitely stay... Placed between Brightons food, culture areas and city center, the George offered good value for money rooms. Good maps available, the only neg being no full breakfast, but this was reflected in the price. Various continental breakfast were available, I would use the George again, very clean. More

Having read other people's reviews we were expecting something special, and sadly were underwhelmed at first - our room was tiny, and whilst there were two trendy lampshades it was otherwise very utilitarian. We'd expected something edgy and "different". Perhaps if we'd paid £115 for a balcony room with a sea view (instead of £72 for a room overlooking the... More

Stayed 1 night with my daughter in the basic double room, small but very comfortably furnished and cosy. Very friendly hosts and one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in! Bathroom looked as new. Breakfast in the room on an old fashioned wooden trolley was a nice touch and delicious. . Great location being just off the seafront... More
